Friday Top 50: Songs Of 2010
Oh it’s the most wonderful time of the year isn’t it? I’m sure some of you people are just about sick of all this year end list mumbo jumbo (as we sort of are too). We do however realize that some of you may have secretly been waiting for us to drop more lists your way. Well here you go friends, I give you the Austin Town Hall Top 50 songs of 2010. This list typically proves to be the hardest one to narrow down since we usually start with over 200 songs and somehow get it whittled down to a managable number. I guarantee some of you will love it and some of you poop faces will be disgusted by it. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. Follow the jump for list.

How did we do this year? Let us know what you think and we’ll try to back up our choices. We obviously had tons more songs that could have been here, but are they really the best of the best?
We also got in the Holiday spirit and decided to create an ATH playlist on youtube with all our top songs of the year. We threw in some crazy cool official videos, a few sweet live performances, and a couple fan made vids. Every song on our list is there minus our two small local bands Hollywood Gossip and Sleep Good. Push play and enjoy!
Great list… great featured graphic!
Nice work, fellas.
Broken Bells – The High Road
Gorillaz – Stylo
Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man
Daft Punk – Derezzed
Solid list. I would say that ACL sealed it for me with regards to Beach House. They were amazing. I am prolly the most digital of the ATH contributors so my personal list would have to add:
LCD Soundsystem – Dance Yrself Clean (ACL win)
Caribou – Odessa
Crystal Castles – Celestica
Phantogram – When I’m Small
Beat Connection – In the Water
Others:
Two Door Cinema Club – What You Know
Warpaint – Undertow
Land of Talk – Quarry Hymns
Aloha – Moonless March
Soft Pack – Answer to Yourself
Deerhunter – at least one of them…
Zune stats:
359 “hearted” songs I have listened to more than once
149 “hearted” songs I have listened to more than five times.
3088 songs added to the collection this year
It’s been a great year. Looking forward to 2011 with the Hall.
Wha? Cee-Low Green? Sorry guys, I thought you knew better. No Warpaint? No Interpol? No She and Him? And “Bloodbuzz Ohio” is maybe the 3rd best song on that album.
I do agree with brian, on the other hand, that it has been another solid year, and yes, Beach House takes the cake. Can’t argue that.
I too look forward to 2011 with you guys.
Best always.
so, none of you guys cut a rug with the ‘shutterbug’ in 2010?!
-red city radio ‘spinning in circles is a gateway drug’
-joe pug ‘how good you are’
-the slackers ‘sabina’
-john k. samson ‘the last and’
-gaslight anthem ‘the diamond church street choir’
-tim barry ‘bozeman’
nice list fellas. keep up the good work.
happy holidays.
great list! – however, i think Lord Huron’s “The Stranger” and “When Will I See You Again” are both even better than “Mighty”, but that’s just me.
