Fun Fest Interviews: Quasi
It’s almost here people. That’s right, Fun Fest is just a mere 2 days away, and ATH is of course pumped for the weekend. As usual, we hit up a few bands prior to the fest to ask them a few questions about life. First up on the list is veteran act Quasi. Follow the jump for more.
Answers coming from Janet Weiss.
ATH: Nathan loves Ted Leo, past labelmate and touring partner, a lot. Any stories you want to share to get him excited?
Janet: Sorry, Nathan but I don’t have any exciting Ted Leo stories. That is not to say he is not exciting. He is a top notch guy who is whip smart with a great sense of humor.
ATH: With all of the other projects you are involved in, what two words would each of you use to describe the first time you play together again as Quasi?
Janet: Fresh fudge
ATH: If you could have only one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? And no, Hot Pockets are not food.
Janet: Japanese food. That was easy.
ATH: Politically charged songs, when you look back, what topics are you most proud of recording about? Any you wish you could reinterpret to the present climate?
Janet: We recently recorded a cover version of War Pigs by Black Sabbath. Possibly the best politically charged song ever written.
ATH: Have you scoped the lineup for the fest yet? Anyone you’re excited about seeing?
Janet: This is the best American festival lineup I have seen in years. I’d like to see MIA, Julie Ruin, Descendants.
Thanks again Janet for the time. You can catch Quasi at 6:25, Saturday on the Yellow stage.
