Dane Schumacher Shares New Track Timebomb

Dane Schumacher is a name you might know from his time spent in the Los Angeles based indie rock band Subtle Orange as the primary songwriter and singer. While his previous band had a fairly straight rock focus, Dane recently stepped out on his own and has been creating tunes still in an indie rock genre, but with a more bedroom, or even dreamy pop focus. His latest single, “Timebomb,” shows this mixture of genres as you can hear a hint of garage rock intertwined with a more dreamy beat throughout. You can definitely see the influence of producer Teenage Priest on the song as it is equal parts mellow and sort of joyful at the same time.

Pop Filter Share Exactly Where I Want to Be

We’ve had a few energetic pop rock tunes from Pop Filter and their new LP, but today, you get a bit more of that slow burn that feels perfect as we stretch into the late Summer vibes. There are so many excellent moments on this singular track, you’ll be circling back to find your favorite little momentary nugget to store in your brain. Deep vocal tones? Sure. Bits of sweeping strings, carefully placed? No doubt. Meandering solo? Indeed. Joyous gang vocals? You bet. Put it all together and you’ve got this melancholic march that celebrates the group’s emotional consistency and celebrated unity as a band. This track is on Ray and Lorraine’s, the new LP out on October 4th via Bobo Integral.

AUTOS Share Stay Clean

If you’re looking for a rad power pop tune to crank up in your stereo, might we guide you to the latest track from Santa Cruz outfit, AUTOS. At the moment, they’re wrapping up the finishing touches on a new EP, but are tossing out a staggering smash to keep your eyes on the prize here. When the tune kicks off, it almost teases retreading garage rock, only to stutter and bring in a bit more of a pop swagger, snapping with drum hits and riffs that are begging to be freed. There’s a certain point where they can take it no more and let loose with the expected swagger that keeps the tune cool! This song brought to you by Dandy Boy Records, who will drop the EP next year.

Nothing Natural Return with Cold Star LP

We were on board last year when Nothing Natural unleashed their NN EP, and now that they’ve got a full length ready to rock, I’m definitely ready for the band to unleash hooks and heavy noise right into my ear canal. You’ll notice they punch right away, almost like they’re brandishing walls of guitars borrowed from late 90s alt rock acts. They turn those big chords into hooks, however, letting the listener dive deep into the cool waters of booming power rock. Such a powerful statement that hopefully has you considering more from the band; they release Cold Star on October 18th via Cherub Dream.

Military Genius Announces Scarred For Life

Bryce Cloghesy’s Military Genius project tends to be a far cry from his work in both NOV3L and Crack Cloud, but that’s perhaps one of the moments you get sucked right into the craft. Today he announces a new LP, Scarred For Life, playing on these jazzy structures that quietly lurk in the corners of your room while Bryce’s voice towers. Despite holding to heavy tones, there are certainly moments when the song’s seduction relies upon the pure fragility of the vocals. There’s something so powerful and emotive in the pull of this track, and we can’t wait to be swept away by the new record; it hits on November 1st via Unheard of Hope.
