Missed Out on Clock Radio

At this time of the year, we’re all going back through old emails and old downloads (at least at my house), trying to figure out what we’ve missed before a new year brings new tunes, which is how I hit upon Clock Radio. They released their delightful Turfin’ Out the Maniacs this past Summer, but it’s just now making it into my rotation. It’s a record brimming with all sorts of indiepop nods, from the jangling album opener “Blood on Chrome” to some of the more broad pop brushstrokes on tunes like “American Roomz.” It reminds me a lot of The Black Watch, or maybe some of the tracks of The Strange Idols-era Felt.
