Contest: Local Natives 7″ and Secrets!
This should be a show post about the killer evening of tunes over at Antones Friday featuring Local Natives and Suckers (2 of our favorites this year). But, instead, we’ve got something for you. We’re running a little contest to win a free Local Natives “Sun Hands” 7″. All you have to do is leave us a comment telling us what your favorite album of the year is, besides Local Natives (as that should be near the top), and don’t forget to leave a valid email address in the email portion of your comment. We’ll pick the winner by tomorrow morning and take care of the rest.
Oh, and our top secret spies tell us that the first person to buy Gorilla Manor starting today at Waterloo Records wins two free tickets. Get over their now. And be sure to show up early as you’ll love the Suckers too!

The Morning Benders – Big Echo
It’s a tie so far between:
Damien Jurado – Saint Bartlett
Josh Ritter – So Runs the World Away
but The Tallest Man on Earth – Wild Hunt is total Boner Jamz as well.
If it’s white and sensitive chances are I’ll like it.
Beach House – Teen Dream
IRM – Charlotte Gainsburg
“Monitor” by Titus Andronicus.
I can’t pick the one I wanted to pick, so I’ll go with Tallest Man on Earth-Wild Hunt. Having said that, the year is still young and I am looking forward to many albums. The National, Panda Bear, Wolf Parade, and hopefully a return to form from The Strokes. And those are just a handful! 2010 is shaping up pretty well.
Vampire Weekend – Contra
So much good music already this year. But I find Massive Attack – Heligoland of the 2010 newbies spinning most frequently so far.
Great responses everybody. Had to go with someone who didn’t duplicate a choice from someone else…
Kevin, I think you win! Congratulations!
Did anyone go to Waterloo to win the ticket contest?
Justin Bieber………
Just kidding, but i truly have a tie going on here;
– Broken Bells- S/T
– Fang Island – S/T
– Dr. Dog – Shame, Shame
But truly the Local Natives album tops everything
