Levitation Interviews: Cloud Nothings
Say what now, two interviews in one day!? That’s right my peeps, we weren’t done for the day and have one more interview before you head out the door later to Levitation Festival in downtown Austin. Our second interview of the day comes from an old ATH favorite, the Cleveland based band Cloud Nothings. We interviewed them almost 10 years ago at Fun Fun Fun so this should be a nice revisit and a Happy Anniversary post. Cloud Nothings play tomorrow night at Hotel Vegas and tickets are not yet sold out. Get some! Hit the jump for interview, set times, and music.
All responses come from leading man Dylan Baldi.
ATH: Whats the name of the band/group? Where are you from?
Dylan: We’re called Cloud Nothings. Three of us live in Cleveland and one of us lives in Philadelphia.
ATH: Describe your groups sound to a new fan using only adjectives.
Dylan: Big bad irrelevant.
ATH: What was your most recent release? Any planned releases for 2021/2022? Where can we get our hands on a new release?
Dylan: Put out a record called The Shadow I Remember in 2021. We’ll probably have like 18 albums by the time 2022 closes up.
ATH: Weve got a great lineup in town for the weekend. Anyone you are trying to see?
Dylan: Our show is the best show. Chronophage! Austin.
ATH: If you could put on your own one day festival with say 5-10 bands (up to you) who would be on this bill? You may travel through time and use artist who are alive or dead or on hiatus… you get me. Where would this awesome concert be?
Dylan: We’re on a cruise right now with some great bands. Soul Glo, Sheer Mag, etc. So them. And then a Billy Gibbons solo set.
ATH: We always like to hear about what bands are listening to in their van/bus on tour. What are you guys spinning? How long does each member get to play DJ?
Dylan: We all keep up with what’s going on. Really enjoying everything on Astral Spirits and Feel It Records.
ATH: The band gets to create their own taco pop-up shop at Levitation! Whats the name, and what sort of tacos will you have? Any sides?
Dylan: I hit this vegan taco spot in McAllen once that had incredible food. I want them. Or Por Siempre in Mexico City, but just in Austin instead. Let’s make it happen. Yeah!
Thanks again to Dylan for giving us his time!
