We hope all of you stayed dry on Sunday at the Fun Fun Fun Festival and we also hope you soaked in the great weather of Saturday. All in all we had a great time over the weekend and saw tons of great bands. Just as we did with ACL, we’d like to give you a brief recap with our top 10 favorite bands from the weekend festivities. We’re putting these in no real order and just listing them with some brief reasons why we liked them so much. Follow the jump for our top 10 Fun Fest bands.

We really dug their new album and now we are excited to see that Thao & The Get Down Stay Down are making their way to the Mohawk on Thursday night. Opening support is rather interesting and is provided by Portland Cello and David Schultz. Be sure to stick around after Thao finishes up for some solid local bands on the inside stage including LA Snacks and DJ John Gross

New Music From Hot Chip

London dance hits makers Hot Chip are back with new material and a new LP planned for 2010. The new album will be called One Life Stand and features this new single “Take it In”. You’ll be able to get your hands on the new album in February via Astralwerks.

Fun Fest 2009 In Photos, Take 1

Over our weekend of Fun Fun Fun, we had lots of fancy photographers running around taking pictures for us to capture the madness that went down. New Music From Longwave

NYC band Longwave are celebrating their final show of the year at Bowery Ballroom on Saturday by giving away a free song each day this week. Yesterdays new and previously unreleased song was called “Disappointed” and it’s been getting heavy rotation in the ol itunes. Be sure to check the band’s website each day this week for more previously unreleased and new tracks.

Fun Fest Interviews: Ratatat

During Fun Fest weekend, we had the chance to sit down and speak with electro beat makers Ratatat. Duo Mike Stroud and Evan Mast were a tad bit on the sleepy side early in the morning, but we still managed to discuss some things we thought you guys would like to know. He made our top Halloween songs list last year and now we think you should go check out Mr. Rob Zombie at Austin Music Hall on Tuesday. Not sure what the music will sound like, but we do know that the spectacle should be worth the price of admission. Openers include Nekromantixm and Captain Clegg & The Night Creatures.

New Music From Jaguar Love

Oh man. We really like you Jaguar Love. We really do. But what is this new direction you’re going in? I guess we should have seen it coming when drummer J. Clark left the band and Johnny and Cody continued on as a two piece. This new song is sort of a techno sounding number with way too much production work and the same lyric chanted over and over. Let’s hope that more new material is on the way with more of that old punch and energy. Maybe it’s not sooo bad, but it really makes me want to try out as drummer for the band. This track will appear on a new album from Jaguar Love out sometime in 2010 via Fat Possom.

TV Torso On Daytrotter

New Music From Tristeza

That band with the sad name Tristeza have a new LP dropping in December and we have a first taste of the album. This little instrumental jam is called “Manitas” and will appear on upcoming album Fate Unfolds due out Dec. 1st via Better Looking Records. For those of you that don’t “habla español”, “manitas” means “little hands”. De nada.
