One of our favorite leading men about town, Will Sheff, played the DJ role for NPRs All Songs Considered recently. If you weren’t aware, Sheff fronts local and rising to fame band Okkervil River. His spot on the show features some fairly obscure music from the likes of Lorraine Ellison, Dion, The Penetrators and of course his own band. You can listen to each song or download the entire podcast from NPR website.
Danielson is offering up more free music by bringing you a new live EP entitled Danielson Alive! The songs can be downloaded indvidually or you can grab the whole thing at emusic (no subscription required). More new music from the New Jersey band will be coming soon enough!

We here at Austin Town Hall love The Rosebuds, and we’ve talked about a few tracks off their newest album, Life Like, in a previous post. Now that the release of said album is only a few months away, I’ve got a tip for you that should get you salivating for more from this band. The cool cats over at Merge Records are now streaming the entire album in an easy to use pop-out format. Head over there now for your own listening pleasure.

You may be sick of all the new dance music making a resurgence, but you’ve gotta admit that French duo Justice are at least doing it right. The Frenchman continue to do it right with a new 4 part project entitled Planisphere which can be streamed on the Justice myspace page. It’s pretty rad.
