TV on the Radio have a new song called “Golden Age” streaming on their website. This new song will appear on the band’s latest album Dear Science due out Sep. 23rd. Will this see the band continuing the huge success of their 2006 release Return to Cookie Mountain? We’ll let you be the judge.

The nice people over at RCRD LBL have a new song from Dallas band Secret Machines for you to stream/download on their website. The song is called “Dreaming of Dreaming” and will apparently NOT appear on the bands latest self-titled release due out in October. You can hear the song exclusively on the RCRD LBL website (they strongly discourage re-hosting songs). Is this better than the very underwhelming 2006 effort Ten Silver Drops?
The new album from David Byrne & Brian Eno entitled Everything That Happens Will Happen Today is now available to stream on their website. Along with the streaming version of the album, you can also purchase the album (regular and deluxe version) or download it for 9 bucks. If you read our recent review of Dr. Dog’s newest album Fate, you know that we are big fans of this Philly-based band (we gave the album 4 1/2 stars). Well, we recently discovered a fantastic live set produced by Steve Lillywhite for NPR. It features 4 songs – “The Ark”, “Talk”, “The Old Days”, and “Hang Out”. Head on over to the NPR website and have yourself a listen.Â
The Austin City Limits website has announced a whole bunch of new after shows. The Black Keys, Manu Chao, Okkervil River, and several other big names have dates up for post festival parties. If you check out the C3 website, they are currently offering an exclusive pre-sale to all of these shows.
Franz Ferdinand have a new song streaming on their website called “Lucid Dreams”. The song is set to appear on the band’s third studio album due out sometime in January of next year. They want an email address for the song but who said it has to be real? Check it out.
Our friends over at Austin Sound Check have created a mix tape chock full of local acts called Feedback Vol. 1. The Feedback features tracks from Austin acts like Built by Snow, The Band of Heathens, and Full Service among others. Check out the free mp3s from some great Austin bands on the Austin Sound Check Site. Don’t forget to leave some comments on their site if you enjoy the music.
I’m From Barcelona, creators of our favorite video of the last few years “We’re From Barcelona” off one of the best albums of 2006 Let Me Introduce My Friends. have some new music for you pop geeks out there. First song “Paper Planes” has a video you can watch on youtube and can also be streamed on the band’s myspace page. Another song, “Music Killed Me” can be had with a real (or fake) email address on the I’m From Barcelona wesbite. “Paper Planes” sounds like it could belong on the band’s 2006 release but “Music Killed Me” sees a totally new direction for the Swedes. Both songs appear on the band’s newest Who Killed Harry Houdini? out Sep. 24th in the UK and Oct. 14th stateside.
Kings of Leon have another new song called “Sex on fire” you can check out on the band’s myspace page. The song will appear on the King’s new album Only by the Night set for release later in September. The band also has some new tour dates they just posted to their website with a stop at Austin’s own Music Hall on the list. Tickets will go on sale August 15th for the event. We’ll post ya a reminder again closer to the sale date.
