Jamie Lidell is one of those musicians you can’t ever really pinpoint.  It seems that his influences and his productions are going all over the place, but you rarely hear people say a bad thing about any of it.  He’s touring in support of his latest record Compass, which features loads of guest stars that we know you adore.  Sure, they won’t all be at Antones on Friday night, but we know one killer act that will be, and that’s Twin Shadow.  This guy has been exploding all over the place for quite some time, and you will want to catch his show before he’s too big for his own britches. Here’s a track to get you stoked.

Local friends Superpop! and Bleu French Laundry have teamed up for a show at Ruta Maya Friday night featuring some of the best bands Austin has to offer.  Your lineup includes The Vitamins, Houston band Young Girls, Tiger Thrust, Sex Dragon, She Sir, and Ideal Soul Mart.  That’s one packed lineup of up and coming locals!  Oh and it’s cheap!

A long time favorite of we ATH members Bowerbirds are stopping by in Austin again at the Mohawk this Friday night.  Fellow ATH favorites and creators of one of my songs of the year Efterklang are also coming into town with Bowerbirds.  Opening support for both bands will be provided by Brooklyn boys Buke & Gass.  Sure lots of things are going down this Friday in Austin, but this stacked lineup has to be in consideration.

Well we’ve been hyping it for a long time now, and the highly anticipated Pixies shows in Austin are finally here.  The original night on Wednesday has unfortunately sold out, but tickets for the recently added Tuesday night show are still available.  Both nights will have opening support provided by Fuck Buttons.  Prior to the show we suggest you check out our interview with Dave Lovering and jam some Pixies tunes until tomorrow.

Psych rock San Francisco band Sleepy Sun are making a stop at The Parish on Saturday evening in Austin.  Joining the rockers are True Widow and Austin’s very own The Astronaut Suit and Brother Ghost.  For such a relatively cheap price, this has got to be a great option for a stacked lineup at one of the finest venues in Austin.
