Seaholm Electric @ Chain Drive (4/21)

Date 4/21/10
Location Chain Drive
Doors 9pm
Tickets $2 @ Door

We’ve taken a liking recently to the post-punk sounds of this relatively new Austin band Seaholm Electric.  The band, being as new as they are, don’t have many photos or information floating around about themselves.  They do however have a new self-released EP out that you can stream over on their website.  The band is also playing on the cheap at Chain Drive tomorrow evening along with fellow locals Persian Wars.  We’re thinking you’ll want to get on board with this band quick like before they start selling out all over town.  We’ll keep you updated on the band as the information gets to us.  Until then, check out why we’re backing these guys with this catchy number “A Million Points of Light”.

4/14 Julian Casablancas @ La Zona Rosa

Wednesday night was a busy one for the ATH crew in Austin, TX.  We had a few folks over at the White Rabbits/Here We Go Magic show, a couple at the Bonobo show, and a even one or two over at Adi’s indie karaoke shindig.  I however couldn’t pass up the chance to see one of the great front men of the past decade, Mr. Julian Casablancas.  Follow the jump for a quick review and more photos.

Date 4/13/10
Location Emos

Emo’s on Tuesday night has a nice little lineup of up and coming talent featuring Temper Trap and Kissaway Trail.  Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of TT, but Kissaway Trail got a lot of great buzz behind them during SXSW.  Plus, what else are you really doing on a Tuesday?  And hear ya go ladies, I’m finally posting this Temper Trap song you’ve been begging for.

4/8 The Big Pink @ The Parish

For those who had recently been following the rise of The Big Pink, Thursday night’s show at The Parish was much anticipated.  As fans of the band’s A Brief History of Love, we were determined to witness the show in order to make a definitive statement on just how much we love the band.  Opening for the evening was A Place to Bury Strangers, who initially seemed like an odd pairing.  Follow the jump for full review.
