If you’re appetite for live music hasn’t been quenched by the madness that is ACL, make your way to the Parish on Monday night for a set by Oxford, MS band Colour Revolt. Local support will be provided by Winston Audio and Ume. Now we’ve seen this band a few times before and we can honestly say that this one will be worth wiping the dust off your face and shaking off your ACL hangover.

ACL Fun Times! (10/1 – 10/3)

So you’re one of those brave souls who just can’t get enough of the heat and music during the day at ACL and you want more? Or maybe you’re just one of those types who skip the festival alltogether and make it out to after parties and after shows? Regardless of what category you fit into, here’s a couple choices for each night of ACL for things to do after the festival activities wind down. So maybe The Secret Machines have fallen a bit on hard times with the critics, but does that mean they can’t bring the house down with a live show anymore? I think not. Head over to Emo’s on Wednesday night for one of these face melting shows from this once time Dallas based band. Openers will be Ringo Deathstarr and Imaad Wasif.

Titus Andronicus @ Mohawk (9/30)

9/26 The Cave Singers @ The Mohawk

Had the weather dropped about fifteen degrees, there would not have been a better show in town. Lights against the limestone enclave and a little bit of folk music, just a slight bit warm. But, The Cave Singers, along with Lightning Dust, still managed to outlast nature and pull off a wonderful show. Follow the jump for more.

Well, as Pains of Being Pure at Heart battle for our top album of the year, we were excited to see them, once again. They brought with them a nice little entourage that included Cymbals Eat Guitars and The Depreciation Guild. On a night with loads of shows across Austin, The Mohawk was packed full of fans eager to see these Brooklynites take to the stage.

If you’re looking for an early evening/night time event to wet your free party fancy, head to to the brand new Under Pressure Screen Shop on south first on Saturday around 5pm. The event features music by Wiretree, The Bubbles, Holy Fiction, Frantic Clam, and Johnny Whutnot. Friday In Austin! (9/25)

Friday is so insanely busy in the music world in Austin that we just had to dedicate an entire post to the goings on. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening at each venue:

Waterloo Records: Langhorne Slim free @ 5pm with free keg beer!

Mohawk: Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Depreciation Guild, and Cymbals Eat Guitars @ 8pm. Tickets are $10.

Emos(inside): Datarock & Esser @ 9pm. Tickets are $14.

Emos(outside): Monotonix, Pong, and White Rhino @ 9pm. Tickets are $15.

Club Mixx: Rob Dickinson(of Catherine Wheel), Lost Werks, Buttercup & Stereo is a Lie @ 7pm. Tickets are $8.

Red Eyed Fly: Tenthy Anniversary with Riddlin’ Kids, Rubberhead, Born to Lose, & The Banner Year.

Frightened Rabbit @ Mohawk (9/24)

Mohawk is the place to be on Thursday night with solid bands playing on both the inside and outside stages. The outside stage features headliner Frightened Rabbit along with The Twilight Sad and We Were Promised Jetpacks. After the outside festivities shut down, the inside stage lineup includes locals Corto Maltese and buzz band Division Day. Now that’s how you get your monies worth.
