Cincinnati indie pop band The Pomegranates are offering up a new song from their soon to be released album One of Us. Recently coming off a lineup shake down, this will be the first new album with the new band members. Check out new track “Your Own Reality” below and hit stores October 26th for their new LP on Afternoon Records.

Eternal Summers are a band that have been on the mind of most every music blogger around the country. We’ll officially join the hype machine band wagon with this new song “Pogo” that just got sent our way. The track will appear on a new 7″ single from the group hitting stores at the end of the month. Debut LP, Silver, from Endless Summer will also feature this new track and looks to a release date on September 28th via Kanine Records.

WRSTLRS is a brand new project brought to you by John Lamonica and Matt Bergeland, both formerly of ATH favorite emo band My Spacecoaster. Now I’ve been following Lamonica since his days in MP until he moved on to form Tiebreaker and then joined Polyphonic Spree for some time. This new project sees the duo creating tunes most similar to the short lived days of Tiebreaker: heavily layered electronic beats over the subtle and calming voice of Lamonica. Right now the duo have 5 songs they are pushing on SoundCloud as they work to a full LP for release sometime in October. We’ve been hyping up Austin’s new IT band The Authors for some time now, and we’ve got great news for you all. These rocking fellows now have a new single to toss your way from their upcoming full-length debut, Get Haunted, which is coming your way September 7th. You’ll get exactly what you need with this track, offering up a little bit of their pounding guitar sound, fueled by hours of perfecting their danceable garage sound. Jose Gonzalez and his band Junip are prepping their debut LP of new material for release this fall. Prior to the album date, the band is offering up a free EP for the price of an email address over on their website. You can pick up the new Junip LP, Fields, in stores September 14th. Below you can find single “Rope and Summit”, which appears on the free EP as well as the upcoming LP.

In my mind, there aren’t many better wordsmiths in the indie world than John Darnielle. Now that he’s signed with Merge, it seems good things are in the future for us all. His new album with Extra Lens will be out on October 19th, titled Undercard. He’s also signed on to release the next Mountain Goats with the Carolina label, so we’ve got that to look forward to, right? And speaking of those Mountain Goats, they’re coming to Austin soon right? Try out the beautifully light “Only Existing Footage” from Undercard.

Local alt-country band Crooks are celebrating the release of their new EP this Friday night with a show at Scoot Inn. You know how much we love Surf City, so much so that we invited the guys to play our infamous SXSW party this past Spring. During that show they talked to us about releasing their first full-length, and word has finally come out that the band will release said album this November. The album is called Kudos, and the first single “Crazy Rulers of the World” hints at good things to come in the future. Give the new track a try, today!

Hearya continues to put out some nice sessions on their live video blog this week with a set from folk rock band Futurebirds. We just missed out on seeing this group when they came to town a week ago so we’re happy to get a taste of what they’re like live. The live session features four MP3s, a couple videos and even the option to download the whole thing as one big file. I’ve been enjoying this sweet live version of “Ski Chalet” which you can find below.

As a guy who is greatly looking forward to the second ever Vaselines release coming out this fall, I’m excited to see that the band is offering up this new track “Sex With an X” for free. This song comes after we already heard new track “I Hate the 80s” from the group’s upcoming Sex with an X LP. Fans of the band will be glad to know that the first album of new material in over 20 years will come out on September 14th via Sub Pop.
