More New Tunes From Band Of Horses

So the much anticipated release date for Band of Horses new joint Inifinite Arms is still a solid month away.  Prior to that heralded day in May, the band has made the opening track “Factory” available for free download over on their website.  This is in addition to the free streaming video of first single “Laredo”.  Here’s to hoping that they pull through on their 3rd studio album.

New Tunes from Pernice Brothers

I’ve been following Joe Pernice for a long time.  His voice always seems to fit into my life at some point or another, so I’m glad to welcome a new tune from Pernice Brothers.  This tune comes from their upcoming record Goodbye, Killer, which will be out June 15th via Ashmont.  First listen sees the band a bit more upbeat than their last go round, but I know old Joe will fill this album with pitch-perfect pop ditties to keep me humming along for some time to come.

New Music From Depreciation Guild

Our friends over at The Music Slut debuted this brand new tune from Depreciation Guild on Friday.  The track, “Crucify You”, will appear on the band’s upcoming LP Spirit Youth which comes out next month.  It’s got a similar twee sound we grew to love from POBPAH and promises good things for this trio.

New Tunes from Blur

Remember these kids?  Yeah, it’s been awhile since you heard from Blur, but now it seems that the band have patched things up with Graham Coxon.  They released a UK 7″ for Record Store Day (damn you UK!), but the band made the track available to US fans.  It’s a pretty chilled out little track, and one that resembles Albarn’s works with Gorillaz as opposed to Parklife, but who really cares?  I mean, come one, this is Blur, and they were one of the best (2nd best in my opinion) Brit pop groups ever. Love this new track.

New Tunes from Ty Segall

Everyone needs a little bit of garage rock in their life right?  And now that I’ve (we’ve) lost Jay Reatard (RIP), I’m hoping that Ty Segall can keep me pumped.  It looks like he’s on the right track with his latest 7″, which will also include a song from his upcoming album, Melted (hits stores on May 25th).  You’ve gotta love the simplicity of this song, and in that, its need to rock you.  Keep your eyes on this one kids.

New Tunes from Inlets

This is Sebastian.  He’s in My Brightest Diamond, but more importantly, and as I witnessed at SXSW, he’s got his own group, Inlets.  They were one of the bands I wish I had seen more of during the festival, but that one set entirely won me over.  This definitely is a bit more for the art-rock constructionist side of things, but you have to love the usage of all those instruments. The band’s album, Inter Arbiter is out April 20th, but if you want to get a listen to it now, you can head over to the group’s web site and give the whole thing a listen.

New Tunes from Beach Fossils

After SXSW we brought you news of one of our favorites, Beach Fossils.  At the time, they only had a 7″ and an Insound session, but now we’ve got more to offer you. Their self-titled album will be in stores on May 25th via Captured Tracks. This sneak peak has a lot more of a lo-fi tendency than I remembered live, but those pounding drums that one me over are very evident. All in all, this should definitely be an album full of consistently good jams.

New Tunes from Jaill

Jaill is one of the recent signees of our friends over at Sub Pop.  They’re from the Northwest, but their sound, especially on this tune, recalls a lot of the 90s indie rock, which we all acknowledge is the hey-day of the genre.  Be sure to keep an eye on the band, as they release That’s How We Burn on July 27th.

New Tunes from The Love Language

While researching fun things to buy this Saturday, I remembered that North Carolina’s The Love Language not only have a 7″ coming to us for Record Store Day, but also their debut album Libraries will hit stores July 13th via Merge Records. We have the first single from the album, and it promises good things to come, so get ready.
