ATH Presents @ Hole In The Wall (2/13)

fridaythe13thposterWe here at Austin Town Hall try to get a show together once in a blue moon, and now felt like the right time to get things going again.  This time around we’ve brought Opposite Day, Whitman, and Frantic Clam to Hole in the Wall this Friday night for a sure to be killer set.  The show will only run you $2, so put down that Friday the 13th box set and get your live music on.  If we don’t see you there, we’ll do to you what Jason did to Kevin Bacon…

Free Album From Brilliant Sweaters

Andrew Bird In Austin

andrewbirdThe always incredible Andrew Bird is passing through our town this week and you’ve got two chances to see him.  The first comes at a Waterloo instore on Wednesday which should start at 5pm with free keg beer.  Get to the instore early as it’s sure to be a popular one. The very next day, Andrew will be playing an intimate set at The Paramount Theatre downtown with music starting at 9pm.  That show is sold out, so check yourself some craigslist to find tickets.

cameraThe newest Camera Obscura record, set to come out via 4AD Records on April 20th, has to be my most anticipated album of the year. Lets’ Get Out of This Country is still one of the greats of recent time, so I’m happy to present you with the first single of the forthcoming album, My Maudlin Career.

New Tunes from Harlem Shakes

harlemIn anticipation for a sweet month of music, both at SXSW and the usual releases, we opted to throw out a tune by up and comers Harlem Shakes. The group is set to release their debut March 24th on Gigantic Music, just as you’ve spent all your hard earned cash on SXSW. Well, at least the album, Technicolor Health, has promise, especially based on this song.
