Tickets $35 from Frontgate

He made our top Halloween songs list last year and now we think you should go check out Mr. Rob Zombie at Austin Music Hall on Tuesday.  Not sure what the music will sound like, but we do know that the spectacle should be worth the price of admission.  Openers include Nekromantixm and Captain Clegg & The Night Creatures.

New Music From Jaguar Love

jaguarlove06Oh man.  We really like you Jaguar Love.  We really do. But what is this new direction you’re going in?  I guess we should have seen it coming when drummer J. Clark left the band and Johnny and Cody continued on as a two piece.  This new song is sort of a techno sounding number with way too much production work and the same lyric chanted over and over.  Let’s hope that more new material is on the way with more of that old punch and energy.  Maybe it’s not sooo bad, but it really makes me want to try out as drummer for the band.  This track will appear on a new album from Jaguar Love out sometime in 2010 via Fat Possom.

New Music From Tristeza

tristeza_promo-smThat band with the sad name Tristeza have a new LP dropping in December and we have a first taste of the album.  This little instrumental jam is called “Manitas” and will appear on upcoming album Fate Unfolds due out Dec. 1st via Better Looking Records.  For those of you that don’t “habla español”, “manitas” means “little hands”.  De nada.

New Tunes from Jump Clubb

jumpNo one really knows anything about the California band Jump Clubb, and in fact, they try to keep it that way.  I guess that seems a little ridiculous to me, but still, they recently released this killer Elliott Smith cover “Angeles.”  It’s not what you would expect, but it seems like an appropriate way to wrap up a Friday.

I think most of us will be about done from our Fun Fest weekend on Sunday, but if you’re still raring to go, head to Mohawk for a headlining after show by locals Trail of Dead.  Joining the guys on the outside stage will be Dark Meat.  Bands getting down on the inside stage are An Albatross, Au, Free Moral Agents, and Zechs Marquis.

Doors 900p
Tickets $11 from Frontgate

Fun Fest aftershows are pretty slim pickins this year, but Saturday night at Mohawk has a nice little lineup of big name local talent.  Your outdoor stage will feature Voxtrot and Octopus Project while indoor talent includes Coathangers, Twin Tigers, Walter Schiriefels, and Jazzus Lizard (Jesus Lizard jazz tribute band).  Should be a good time if you’re still standing after day one of Fun Fest.

Tegan & Sara On The Interface

tegansara_coverSuhweet.  Spinner’s the Interface hasn’t had too many bands recently that I care a lot about or at least not enough to tell you guys about.  That changed this week with an in studio performance by our favorite Quinn sisters Tegan & Sara.  The girls perform 4 songs all from their new album Sainthood which has been growing on me more and more with each listen.  Maybe these live videos will help you to decide if that big ticket cost for their show at Bass Concert Hall in February is really worth it.

New Music From Spoon

spoon_gaA new Spoon track has been floating around the interwebs and we wanted to share it with you.  It’s called “The Mystery Zone” and is now the 3rd track that we’ve heard from the new album.  Gotta say, this track and the other two aren’t really making me too excited for the new release.  I guess we’ll see eh?  Spoon’s new LP Transference will be available January 26th via Merge.

Song removed by request of record label.  Sorry kids.
