LA Snacks @ Creekside 4/15
Creekside doesn’t usualy get in on the live music scene too often, but they’ve got a nice local lineup planned for Wednesday night. Austin artist LA Snacks are headlining the show with fellow locals Bankrupt and The Borrowers and The Eastern Sea opening things up. Tickets are at the door for $5. Music is at 10.

New Tunes from My Latest Novel
A few years back, I stumbled into the record store and came across this band, My Latest Novel. They met my requirements for something worthy of checking out: they were from Glasgow and someone references Belle and Sebastian in their review; those days are long gone. The first single from the bands upcoming album, Death and Entrances, is full of complexities and an organic quality that most enjoy these days. Sit back and listen.

New Tunes from Dogs Die in Hot Cars
For a while, we all thought that UK band Dogs Die in Hot Cars were done for good, but recently, the band has reemerged with a new project at hand. In order to get their second album completed, they are asking their fans to finish it up, as they seem to be done with working together. Regardless, you can read more about that project and download the entire second album demos for free at the band’s web site. I, for one, can’t wait to hear what someone does with “Pop Nonsense.”

New Music From Foreign Born
L.A. band Foreign Born have a new MP3 that they just made available for download. The song is called “Vacationing People” and comes out June 23rd via Secretly Canadian. It’s gettin’ some heavy plays around the ATH offices.

White Rabbits
We’ve been rocking this band White Rabbits around the ATH offices recently and wanted to share them with you. The band is another one of those hot Brooklyn bands that are breaking new ground and working hard to make a name for themselves. Already having toured with the likes of Richard Swift, White Denim, and Spoon, the band is also no stranger to the touring life. Their upcoming sophomore LP It’s Frightening, produced by Spoon front man Britt Daniel, can be had on May 15th via TBD Records. Here’s the catchy single “Percussion Gun”.

Frantic Clam @ Beauty Bar 4/14
One of our favorite new Austin bands Frantic Clam is playing another show at Beauty Bar this Tuesday night. The guys will be getting down with fellow locals The Seas and DJ Scorpio spinning in-between things. Music starts at 10pm and the show is free. Like you have anything better to do on a Tuesday night.

New Tunes from Mary Onettes
You’d be hard pressed to find a better place to play than the current state of things in Sweden. One of those bands who hasn’t gotten too much press, but who deserves a great deal of praise is The Mary Onettes. Their upcoming Dare EP is set to come out digitally, with a physical release slated for June. Here is a taste of the title track off said EP.

New Dirty Projectors
Everyone spent all day Thursday, and a better part of the early week trying to find the new single , Stillness is the Move, which is coming out on the new Dirty Projectors album, Bitte Orca, which comes out later on Domino Records. Either you love them or hate them, but everyone out there is really looking forward to this release, us included.

Kinks Hoot Night @ Ruta Maya (4/11)
Ruta Maya is a venue that probably doesn’t get enough coverage on our site, so we thought we’d throw some love their way for a sweet event they’ve got going down Saturday night. The show is a special one that features several of our favorite local up and coming acts doing nothing but Kinks covers. Lineup includes ATH favorites Golden Bear, The Bubbles, Bankrupt and the Borrowers, Tunnels, Zookeeper and a mess load of other bands that won’t all fit on this page.
