Of Montreal @ Fiesta Gardens (11/13)

Of Montreal will be bringing their ridiculous live show through Austin this Thursday evening and we’re here to bring you the details. The band will be playing at the rarely utilized Fiesta Gardens on the east side with doors opening at 6pm. Tickets can be bought now from the Transmission Entertainment website. If you’re curious about the venue choice, my guess is that they need somewhere to park the horse trailer. To make the show even more enticing, Icy Demons out of Chicago will be opening for Of Montreal. Here’s a track from Icy Demons called “Miami Ice”.

Free Album From Jai Agnish

Garden State dweller, Jai Agnish, has a new album you can download for free on his bandcamp website.  The album is called Awake When You Dream and features 11 new tracks of acoustic/folk music at its best.  If download times keep you up at night, here’s a highlight from the album called “We Found Love”.

New Tunes from Longwave

In New York City long long ago, Longwave released one of the stronger debut albums of the decade, but they managed to go largely unnoticed. They had a slip-up on the sophomore LP, but they have a new album coming out on November 11th titled Secrets are Sinister. Here is the track “Sirens in the Deep Sea” off of said album.

Ben Kweller @ Antone’s (11/2)

Ben Kweller will be following up The Mountain Goats show at Antone’s on Saturday night with his own set at the classic venue on Sunday.  Mr. Kweller is currently touring in support of his limited edition tour EP How Ya Lookin’ Southbound?  Come In… Tickets for the show are $20 and can be bought from the Antone’s website.  Preview the show with “Sundress” off ben Kweller’s 2006 self titled LP.

Cruiserweight CD Release @ Emo’s (10/31)

Cruiserweight will be giving you one of many options for shows on Halloween night here in Austin.  The local act will be playing at Emo’s with tickets on sale for only $10.  The show is in celebration of the band’s recent LP release Big Bold Letters which came out on the 7th of this month.  Check out “Balboa” from that release below.

Eef Barzelay On Daytrotter

So maybe just maybe we talk about the Daytrotter website too much, but we’ll keep posting about ’em as long as they keep bringing us gems like this.  For the second exceptional live set this week, we get Clem Snide front man Eef Barzelay.  Eef performs two songs from his recent release Lose Big and two other previously unreleased tracks.  Download MP3s of the performance now.  Thanks again Daytrotter, you’re cool.
