The ACL Lineup is Out

Just like all my students right now, I’m scouring the list of the released artists that are playing this year’s Austin City Limits Festival. My kids are stoked to see Sabrina Carpenter, but I can always catch a live Strokes show! Further down the poster you get some sneaky good acts like Rilo Kiley and MJ Lenderman, plus the poor-man’s LCD Soundsytem will bring the dance. You can check out the full line-up HERE. The festival is set to go down on the first two weekends of October this year, and you can grab tickets HERE.

ACL 2014 Lineup Announced

ACL 2014The two-weekends of ACL will be headlined by the nineties. Eminem, Pearl Jam, Beck and Outkast are joined by newbie Skrillex on the top of the marquee. Those of you that bought Weekend Two passes will get the musical stylings of Lorde. Meh. As usual, the alleged top tier will be the soundtrack to our exit.

While we aren’t giddy about the headliners here, we are pretty thrilled with the meat of the lineup. Interpol, Belle and Sebastien, Real Estate, St Vincent, Broken Bells, Tune-Yards, Polica, Cults, The Rosebuds, Phantogram, CHVRCHES, Temples, Miniature Tigers, Mac Demarco, The Replacements, Chromeo, SNOWMINE (WE1), Beat Connection (WE2) and what will likely be the best thing you see all festival JAGWAR MA!

Sure SXSW rules the Spring, but Fall in Austin, Tx can have your head spinning at all of the live music options. Not only do we have ACL and Fun Fun Fun Fest, but the schedule of touring acts this time of year can be ridiculous. The festival known worldwide and sometimes confused with the television show is our kick-off to the end of the year in music for Austin, Tx, and as much as we might shy away from the fact that The Eagles are a headlining act, deep down inside it’s our festival, and a pretty cool one at that.
