Lala Salama – Kuva Susta

If you’re not paying attention to our coverage of the Finnish scene, don’t skip over the tunes we’re bringing you today. The simplistic opening 26 seconds of this new Lala Salama track had me floored, light in nature, but weighted in its tonal approach. When the vocals come into the light, the tune immediately begins to awaken; the buds are careful to open, like they’re shaking off the Winter freeze before suddenly the guitars are distorted and the tune’s right in your face! There’s such a huge sound waiting for you if you can only unlock the listen below. Look for their debut LP in March via All That Plazz.

Lala Salama Drop Fresh Single

If you spend any time on this site, you surely know that I am super into the Finnish scene. I owe that to our good friends over at Soliti Music, but, of late, I’ve also gotten into Helsinki’s All That Plazz, who just released this energetic ditty from Lala Salama. While the Suomi language is used for the lyrics, the emotional appeal is so easy to slide into, whether you fully grasp the vocals or not. When that chorus hits and soars, its impossible not to get completely swept up in the pull…and I’m all here for it. Totally worth getting lost in this song for a few moments!

Straight Ripper From Lala Salama

Summer is nearly here and I believe my first nominee for song of summer has arrived with this new track called “Summer Love” from Helsinki based artist Lala Salama. The track has a dreamy, sun drenched sound paired with a frantic and pulsating force driving the song for 2.5 minutes. It’s a blast of refreshing energy.

This track is offered by independent Finland label All That Plazz with a promise of more new music coming soon!

Gim Kordon Drop New Jam

You know by now that I’m super into the Finnish scene, right? Well, I owe that entirely to my friend Nick, who at one point worked with Gim Kordon on his own Soliti label. But, the band’s own Aleksi has started a new label titled All That Plazz, who will be releasing future music from GK…for now they’re teasing that with a new single. This has a great 90s college rock feel to it, kind of hints at scuzzy, but plays a bigger role with a huge pop sensibility; its the sort of sound that wouldn’t be far out of line with a Merge or Sub Pop, particularly in the late 90s…so you know everyone here is on board. We’ll keep you posted on more, but just wanted to have you dip your toes in some jams from overseas.
