ATH DJ Night & Market @ Oddwood (5/25)

Your friendly ATH crew has been booking all sorts of Vinyl DJ nights around town recently and Oddwood Brewing on the East Side has turned into one of our favorite spots to spin. This Thursday the crew will once again be set up at the brewery with all kinds of fire and heat emanating from the speakers. And as you know, our team plays only vinyl with no need for fancy streaming platforms. Sets by @nathanlankford, @photobriangray, and @djrayray_ath. Kicking off at 5pm and going till they tell us to leave (8 or 9ish).

While you enjoy the tunes and a cold one, you can also shop the new record and clothing stock from @DJRayRay_ath. Come on by and make a night of it.

We covered a whole lot of ground last week, as there’s always tons of music spilling out into the world. I was really high upon the new track from Daisies, which is why its leading our playlist. There were also tons of ATH regulars like the Reds Pinks and Purples, Lachlan Denton, Jana Horn, Dippers and the High Water Marks. Plus, with SXSW on the horizon, we did tons of little meet and greet posts with the bands: Blondeshell, Meernaa, Foamboy and more. So find a song you love, and go check out what we hit up last week!

It’s that time again for another ATH vinyl happy hour at Knomad Bar right here in Austin, TX. We will of course be playing only music from our vinyl collections with no digital music allowed. If you’re Friday night plans are looking lame, why not come hang out with us and listen to some great tunes. We sometimes take requests, but only if it’s cool.

Fun Night at the Mohawk Tonight – 5 PM

IMG_9665Tonight, and tonight only, you should come out and join us at Mohawk for some ATH DJ Session.  We’ll be playing some local vinyl, as well as my favorite garage, dance and indiepop hits…no laptops here folks.  But, as if joining us for Happy Hour at 5 PM wasn’t good enough to cure your Monday blues, our friends Plantation will be following our set indoors, joined by Ghost Bunny and Pleasures. Really, you could spend your whole night at Mohawk and have a blast.  Settle into your buzz while we play some hits, then enjoy some good tunes to round out the night. See you at 5 PM. Probably going to play this song.

ATH Council Meeting @ The North Door (6/15)

It’s time once again friends and loved ones to bring ourselves together for yet another ATH Council Meeting at the North Door. This Friday evening, we will once again grace your presence in the back bar of the ND with awesome tunes ranging every decade of our existence on earth.  As always, we’ll have plenty of hits to nod your head to and move your ass to as well.  Let’s not forget that North Door also has some of the best drink specials on the east side, our favorite being the “Son of a Gun” a.k.a. “Hell on Wheels”.  Come join us, drink, and be merry!  We’ll start spinning our tunes a little later this go around, somewhere near the 9pm mark.  Come say hello!

So we’re gearing up to head out for some festival going on this week and we thought we’d take the time to remind you that posts will be scarce for the next few days.  For a more current update of our goings on and new music finds, I suggest checking Twitter or our new Facebook page.  We’ll try to give you some posts, but we promise nothing.  Also don’t forget the following:

We Survived ACL

Yes ladies and gentlemen, we made it through ACL and we are working on our write-ups, interviews, etc.  We will start giving you guys the goods tomorrow and we promise it will be worth your while.  The exhaustion, dust, and late nights have taken their toll, but we have some of the best staffers around and the content should be great!
