Yesterday, I mentioned in passing booking a rad show with Rosie Tucker amongst others; well, one of those others was my favorite pop rockers, Weakened Friends. The trio unleashed a new track yesterday, their first since the vastly underrated Quitter dropped a few years back. This song churns out relatable lyrical content, filled with hope and self-doubt simultaneously, particularly relating to a new romantic relationship. And, if you’re looking for a good pop rock chorus, you know that Sonia Sturino’s going to deliver it with a huge wallop and a hook, just as you get here. Love to have them back, and hoping there’s a new LP on the horizon. Don Giovanni helped get this tune out there!

FIDLAR Return With Anthemic Punk Rock

A simple search on this website for the band FIDLAR will tell you immediately that we are huge supporters of the group’s music and general attitude toward song writing. Go ahead, try the search. So we dig these guys obviously and we always get excited when they send us great punk rock tunes like the anthemic song “Awkward” found below. As usual, the guys don’t beat around the bush with their lyrics and clearly like to rock equally as much as any punks in the game. This track is the first taste of new material from the band since the release of their albums of the year worthy self-titled LP back in January. Simply a single of sorts.

Washed Out is all growns up?

Ernest Greene has been a buzz-worthy blog-hyped man and a latop. He and his wife manage all merch. He records in the corner of a bedroom at a lakehouse. This is a solo act. Or is it?

The stage was full of instruments. There were three sets of keyboards, drums, a bass and, yes, a Macbook. But it wasn’t front and center. It wasn’t on a card table up front with a small keyboard for improv. More on the band, the tech and the openers Feathers and Sleep ∞ Over after the break.
