Honduras, It’s Been Awhile

hondoA year or so ago, I was really into jamming Honduras, but they seem to have been relatively through that time…until this brand new single caught my ear.  It fulfills on early promise of blending melodies with this post-rock sensations…the spoken word vocal delivery is a nice twist on the style. Still, the band have a great tendency to get noisy in all the right places, which ends up always keeping their tracks memorable.  Look for their debut, Rituals, this June via Black Bell Records.

New Track From The Due Diligence

unnamedI’m rather enjoying this impressive new track called “Cool” by New York based The Due Diligence.  It’s hard to accurately describe the sound being created here, but one might call it punk themed rock music with a surfy vibe to it at times.  Veterans like King Khan immediately come to mind.  Check it out for yourself and see what you think.

New album, Are You Down, will be available on August 5th via Black Bell Records.

More New Music From Dances

dances.1

I have no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy this new joint “Holy Fool” by New York based outfit Dances.  We’ve previously shared standout track “Rat” elsewhere on the site, and we see more reasons for praise coming here.  It’s an easy to love pop song with a great hook and some nice sounding lead guitars slapping you in the face just a bit.  Easy to like indeed.

Debut EP, Whiter Sands, due out on April 15th via Black Bell Records.

Super Catchy Track from Stepdad

This song from Stepdad is so ridiculously good that I had to share it with you.  It starts off with this electronic meandering, sort of like what you get from later Animal Collective, but then it unites with trickling pop structure…going back and forth.  You’ll find this song opening the band’s new album, Wildlife Pop, which comes out on June 12 via Black Bell Records.  Starting off an album like this is dangerous, but I have a feeling that the group can live up to the expectations.  If you’re looking for a pop tune that combines swirling gang vocals with electronic pulses, then get into this jam right now!
