Last Week’s Jams, Today (5.9 – 5.13)

You’ve waited all weekend for the quick and easy recap of all the sweet tunes we hit up last week. We started off the week really strong with a bunch of stuff, but somehow, it feels like we kind of sputtered to a close, just sprinkling a tune here and there. Still, we managed to get 20 great tunes you should enjoy in your first hour of the morning. We start it off with the absolute banger from Say Sue Me, then have some more experimental works from the likes of Sinaive and Double Vanity. Plus, we’ve got a new track from our friend Lizzy Lehman produced by S. Houser and Jim Eno of Spoon. Turn it up and get your day started.

Double Vanity Share Night Moves Single

In need of a contemplative single that can take you back to the days of Cocteau Twins or Siouxsie solo work? Well, then perhaps you’ll want to dip your toes into this stunning new tune from Melourne’s Double Vanity. Zec Zechner’s voice is surely the central focus; you are drawn to the majesty that it presents throughout, with moments that feel like the notes could shatter before your ears. But, for me, the song’s success relies upon the dense textures created behind that voice. The wash of synth atop the beats set the ground for these crystalline guitar notes to knife their way through here and there. Tell me you don’t love it.

Why Not Share This Broncho Track?

unnamed-43Oh man, this track is a real winner. If you’re into garage rock with enough fuzz on it to rattle your headphones then this new track from BRONCHO who hail from Norman, Oklahoma. “I Know You” is a spiraling rock track, with twangy guitars and hazy vocals, but at the same time, it’s got a compelling vibe to those gang vocals that will have you coming back for more. From the beginning, this song is huge and it doesn’t ever get less than giant in its sound. Take a listen and get excited for theirupcoming record,Double Vanity, will be out June 10th via Dine Alone Records.

Word on the street is that they’re playing at The Sidewinder in a few short days (5/28) and you should probably scoop up a ticket for that right here.
