Get Dreamy With Geowulf

unnamed (7)I’ve been saying all summer that one of my goals is to make sure all of you have plenty of material for your summer playlist. So I’m getting another dreamy summer tune in before the season ends with this new single “Saltwater” by London based Geowulf. Man this song is so sunny and full of good flowing vibes. It’s perfect for this time of year.

“Saltwater” will appear on a new label compilation entitled Odd Numbers Vol. 1 coming from London based label 37 Adventures on August 5th.

Dream Pop from Vansire

vansireIt only took a matter of seconds for me to get hooked on this song from Vansire; it was the hanging jangle hook of the guitars sitting atop a carefully picked additional guitar. When the vocals entered, it took a slightly warmer turn, though the bubbling groove and steadying drums left me with a sense of longing. I hear bits of the sunny dream pop that The Drums kicked out, though this song has a more calming feel to it, which I think anyone will find appealing whilst sipping on a cold drink during the summer. As of yet, no word on a full album or EP, but you can enjoy this song as many times as you like.

Get Dreamy With The Saxophones

1501666_833023450074955_5070952818094037727_nOakland based The Saxophones just sent me this new single “If You’re on the Water” this morning and I had to share it with the world. It’s a very dreamy, very repetitive, and totally meditative type of song. For me, it’s been a perfect start to what is a cloudy and kind of gloomy Tuesday morning. Hopefully this is just the beginning of more great things to come.

Fans can purchase this song as part of a new EP available on July 19th. Picture disc!

Enjoy This Beauty From Swimming Tapes

13237662_1095128163888521_9221963997744131932_nThis new song entitled “Set The Fire” by London based band Swimming Tapes premiered elsewhere yesterday and it’s too good for me not to share despite my tardiness. To begin with, this song is just so damn dreamy, it’s giving me all the warm feelings this morning. I’m not sure how I hadn’t heard of this band prior to yesterday, but with promising sounds like this, I’ll be paying closer attention from here on it. Stay tuned.

More From The Hazy Seas

12795335_951492121602660_8656031474738553721_nI told you a couple of months ago you’d be hearing more from Michigan based band The Hazy Seas as I received more information right? Well today I have yet another promising new single here entitled “Kite Dodging”. I’m really loving the frantic pace to the song which adds a nice element to the already dreamy and catchy bit of pop sounds. To me, this band is doing something truly unique and creative. Pay attention.

Airy Dream Pop from Richard Yot

richardLooking for that sense of longing today, longing to be into the weekend. Not quite in party mode, but more in a chilled mood, which is where this new track from Richard Yot gets into the mix. The vibes here are really calming, all the way up to Yot’s lofty vocals that are carefully draping themselves around the subdued musical elements. He’s working non-stop, like he once did as a video animator, to craft his sound, and the looks of this track have us in-store for some really great listens in the future…we’ll keep you posted on that as it comes our way.

Pleased to Meet You: STFU

stfuI love it when someone who you admire musically releases something new out of the blue, something you gravitate towards. Preston M. is a member of Bloody Knives, who’ve graced our Internet site before, and just yesterday he tossed up a completed album with D. Garcia, going by the name of STFU (that’s a wrestling move, right?). It’s part industrial electronica and part dream pop, meeting somewhere in the dark middle. I like that some tracks offer up vocals, while others clearly have the duo experimenting with sound. Like your music with a hint of darkness and noise, and a dash of pop? Get into the band’s debut album, What We Want. Stream it below.

Lost Tapes Release New Video

12742816_1027405533983391_6617029569881673984_nBeen spending a lot of time listening to the dreamy pop sounds of Lost Tapes over the last few weeks. They just got up their debut album, Let’s Get Lost; it’s an understated bit of dreamy electro pop. I like the imagery of the video, especially the fact that it’s shot in black and white. It seems to fit well with the song, as the vocals are resting just behind the mix, at least in my ears. If the song strikes you, you’ll love listening to the record…relaxing and thoughtful, but filled with emotion.

Pleased to Meet You: Gibberish

gibberishI miss the old days where I felt like the music that Animal Collective was creating was accessible; it bordered on pushing boundaries while still remaining sensitive to pop lovers. Lucky for me I just discovered Gibberish, a California duo. There’s an electronic element, but it turns on the swirling melody that aims for the lofty heights of pop dreaminess. This single just hit the Internet, and with it, I’m hooked on the sound. I’m pretty sure you’ll feel the same, possibly leaving you clamoring for more, so stay tuned to these pages.

Fresh Tunes from The Blessed Isles

blessedGoing far out on a limb here, but you’re probably not going to find a finer piece of dreamy pop music this week than that of The Blessed Isles. There’s so many elements within the confines of this piece, yet it all comes off as if it’s something so simple. There’s a wash of guitars looping, atmospheric touches and synthetic beats…and that’s without even looking at the polished softness of singer Aaron Closson. This track is sure to be a centerpiece of the band’s debut, Straining Hard Against the Strength of Night, but it should also be a centerpiece to those of you who adore the finer bits of pop music. Look for the album on May 20th via Saint Marie Records.
