Dutch songwriter Dion Tiktak’s From//October project is a really great way to escape the mundane details of the end of times we’re facing. There’s a lightness to his craft, allowing you completely let loose, take that magic carpet ride wherever your mind chooses to travel. For me, you’ll find some similarities to earlier stuff that came from Peel Dream Magazine, albeit with a bit more of a melodic drive here, allowing the crispness to really hit those notes that allow for emotional escapism we’re all seeking from our favorite tunes. Cruise With Lost Cousins

Well summer is officially here and real proud of itself which always gives me an inclination to hit the road and drive with the windows down (but also with the AC on of course). Luckily I have Toronto based group Lost Cousins to help me along my way with this new single “Dreamer.” It has an incredibly relaxed, atmospheric take on dream rock and should inspire some late night cruises as you hit the open road. Many of us will be trekking out on adventures next week and this should be the perfect tune to take along with you.

Friday Fun from Seeing Hands

You know that dreamy guitar sound everyone’s using? Well, here’s more of it from Seeing Hands, though I think the production here differs a bit, allowing for the song to sound somewhat in a shambles while still delivering a tight dreaminess. I love that it doesn’t feel as sparkling clean as the guitar might lead one to believe, carefully stretching out tones and backing vocals throughout. It’s the band’s latest single in what’s becoming a fairly routine hit-making machine, so here I sit awaiting another gem just around the corner.

Get Moving With The Diamond Age

It’s a good day for me when a band hits me up with some new music and it moves me to share with others. Today I’m compelled to share with you this new single called “Popular Science” from Southampton based pop group The Diamond Age. As I listen more and more, I’m wanting to jump out of my chair and get my feet moving in timeto the dance inducing synths and catchy vocal hooks. This one is for fans of bands like Talking Heads or even The Drums.

This song will appear on a new EP coming out sometime later this year. Stay tuned.
