Have To Share New Operators

Yeah so I’m a bit late on this news, but when it comes to I band I love like Operators, the news will be coming at ya no matter the timeliness. On Friday Mr. Boeckner and his band released this incredible new single called “I Feel Emotion”. The song has somehow managed to combine the driving qualities of a Springsteen song with the electronic/synth sounds from the 80s new wave movement. Basically, I love it and you should to.

Operators will release new album Radiant Dawn on May 17th. Pre-orders are live now.

Brothertiger Should Brighten Your Day

Brothertiger

John Jagos and his project known as Brothertiger has picked up some positive praise on ATH over the years, and I’ve grown to admire the music despite my typical avoidance of the electronic genre.  My admiration grows even more today with this enchanting new track “Out of Touch”.  I’m fascinated with the way Jagos can create a beautiful pop song here, and though it might be labeled synth or electronic, it’s truly just a great pop song.  Enjoy.

You can pick up Out of Touch on December 4th.

Get Down With Future Elevators

unnamedIt’s rare for me to post tunes like this one from Future Elevators, but I feel like most of us may need it this Monday after a long weekend of exciting football and show.  The track, entitled “Modern World” is a sure fire dance hall hit with killer beats and a groovy vibe.  I’m confident that such a jam can brighten up even the worst of Mondays.  It’s already done so for me.

Future Elevators will be releasing a full length LP sometime in 2016.  Stay tuned for updates.

Small Black Give Us Even More

unnamedIt’s been a busy year for Small Black and Team ATH has already shared two new singles from the band so we might as well go on and share a third.  This one is called “Back at Bells” and is yet again another gem sure to get you more fired up for the band’s new album.  What else is left to say really?

Don’t forget to pick up Best Blues on October 16th via Jagjaguwar.

Painted Palms Give Us a Hit

Painted Palms has given us so many hits over the last couple of years it’s hard to believe the band has even more sweet jams to give.  Today comes news of an upcoming album and the release of yet another one of those great songs I was just mentioning.  This one is called “Disintegrate” and is surely a song that will make your weekend, or even summer, good times playlist.  I’m already dropping it into mine.  Carry on.

New album, Horizons, is due out on September 4th via Polyvinyl Records.

Electronic Groove from Grounders

groundedWhen I first pressed play on this Grounders track, I honestly expected something a little different.  The first twenty seconds or so have this glittery electronic fold to them, leading me to believe it was going to be a hard-hitting piece of electro-pop.  But, rather than push forward with a heavy (beat-laden) hand, the band pull the pace, slowing things down to allow the track to unfold in a fashion that’s built more for foggy mornings than late night ragers. You’ll find songs such as these on the bands self-titled full length, which hits on May 12th.

New Electro-Pop Jamz From Still Corners

Just found this gem of a tune “Fireflies” coming from Sub Pop beauty Still Corners and had to share.  I dig the electronic 80s style vibe, but of course the sultry vocals are what really seal the deal for me.  What can I say, we ATH kids have a weakness for the vocal ladies.

The song is part of a 7″ single coming your way on October 26th via Sub Pop Records.

Downtempo Electro Pop From Beacon

I think I am already sick of the new XX album and don’t even own it. My drive time with SiriusXMU has pretty much locked that up.

As an alternative, we bring you Beacon. It starts low and sultry, and builds from sparse to sweeping. Another Brooklyn-based duo borrowing from R&B and dance pop, They’ll be releasing the For Now EP on October 2nd. Until then, you can stream this song called “Feelings Gone” over at the Ghostly soundcloud.
