As we hope you know, we’ve been throwing an annual Austin SXSW party, highlighting bands with new work out that we’ve adored; we always throw this show with our friends at 101X Homegrown/Side One Track One. Well, since the show is less about us, and more about the music, we’ve created an easy playlist to sample some of the new work by all the artists that are giving up their free time to be part of this yearly celebration.

The show itself happens on March 9th over at Hotel Vegas/Volstead. It’s absolutely FREE. No RSVP necessary. 21+ is the rule. Sample the music below. And, if you’re into FB, we have an event page here, just to help you remind yourself of the good times coming your way; it’s HERE.

Before things get really wild in ATX next week, we are pumped to be a part of this amazing Vinyl Market going down on Saturday at Oddwood Brewing from 11am til 4pm. We have a ton of great vendors this time around who will be selling all sorts of LPs, 45s, and ephemera at unbeatable prices. To make this a more SXSW themed kick off party, we’ll also have some musicians playing outside on the patio while DJs and records are going inside. If you’re free on Saturday and love a good beer, paired with good music and a choice vinyl selection, then this will be the place to be. Come say hey! Full vendor and artist lineup after the jump:

First there was Covid, then I had another kid, but I’m back this year to reignite the annual AustinTownHall vs SideOneTrackOne SXSW Party. It’s a 3 stage extravaganza over at Hotel Vegas, bringing in some of our favorite acts from all over Austin and having them throw down ridiculous sets that make us all proud of our music scene. Huge shout out to John at SOTO and 101x Homegrown for the organization, and thanks to the Vegas crew for having us back here. This year, we’ve even got a fun playlist for you to sample the tunes and share around to get your friends excited.

Show starts at 3 PM on March 12 at Hotel Vegas/Volstead! FREE! See you there!

ATH Takes Over Nomad @ Nomad Bar (3/15)

nomadparty_ATHAfter a lot of hard work and tweaking of some components, I’m finally pleased to share the news of a show we have going down on Tuesday, March 15th at Nomad Bar in Austin. Personally I think this might be one of the best lineups we’ve ever been able to put together. Find some deets below and we’ll see ya there. Facebook event link.

!!!Monday is a great day for another contest to provide some excitement as you begin your work week.  Today we have a couple of tickets available to see now veteran dance pop band !!! at Red 7 on Thursday night.  As usual, we will pick one lucky winner to get their name on the guest list with a +1 for a friend/significant other.  To enter, leave a creative comment about why you should win and we’ll pick a winner on Wednesday.  Please be sure to leave a valid email address so we can get in touch with you.

Okay, you have to go to this.  First, The Hex Dispensers are one of the great bands in Austin, and I think they’ve been vastly overlooked.  It’s cool, you totally have the chance to make up for it.  Then, you can also catch opening act King Tuff, who’s been around for a bit kicking out the garage-y jams.  He recently put out a record with some friends as Happy Birthday, so if you remember that, you remember it being pretty solid.  And, you want the icing on your cupcake? It’s absolutely FREE, all you have to do is RSVP.  So, to recap, you get awesome tunes, and you don’t have to free. No excuses.  Here’s a track from Happy Birthday to get you in the mood.
