New Jam from Guards

I have no idea how this new jam from Guards slipped under my radar last week, as I’ve long adored this band something fierce.  The band’s released a a couple of EPs, but they’re prepping for the release of their debut, In Guards We Trust, which comes out February 5th of next year.  Listening to the first single, it’s precisely what I wanted the band to do.  They highlight their exuberance with bright hooks and swirling melodies that emotionally encourage you to soar.  Be prepared to hear more great things from this group next year.

New Single from Guards

One of the bands that we really got behind this year was Guards, and they’ve just hooked up with the folks over at White Iris to release a brand spanking new 7″.  This new track is super rambunctious, and I absolutely adore the way the guitars stutter along before they burst into this breezy pop chorus.  Of course, the band then returns to the stuttering guitar lines before jumping completely back into the joyousness that epitomizes everything I enjoy about listening to this band.  You can get your hands on this 7″ now, so what are you waiting for?

New Music From Guards

Last summer Nate dog posted about a free EP from lo-fi pop band Guards, and now we have more new music from the band.  This sweet new jam is called “Hear You call” and is featured on a new EP from the band entitled Resolution of One.  Word is you can get the new EP in limited 7″ format or digitally from Kitsune Records.  Is it summer yet?

Free EP from Guards

We all love free tunes, so you can’t really turn away from this great new band, Guards.  Their sound is a bit of lo-fi, but they definitely do their part to include a bit of strong melody in those tracks.  The self-titled EP from the band has seven tracks, and each one has a bit of a different spin than the preceding number, so you don’t get bogged down in monotony.  Definitely give this group a try.
