New Music from the Moondoggies

We first brought you news of a new full length from Moondoggies back in May, and said album, Tidelands, is still on for release on October 12th, from our really solid friends over at Hardly Art (well, we like them all, but mainly Moody). This latest track really shows a great deal of promise, as it has a huge Northwestern feel to it, using great harmonies to accompany that woodsy-stomp.  You can’t deny the extra emphasis from the organ/piano here either.  It’s that sort of harder-edged American sound that appeals to people from all walks of life. Is this record out yet already? We want it.

Woven Bones Sign To Hardly Art

We always get a little excited around here when a local band we like gets picked up by a big indie label.  So imagine our excitement when news dropped yesterday that our very own Woven Bones have been picked up by indie label Hardly Art.  The first release on the band’s new label will be a 7″ single featuring two new songs from the group.  You’ll find one of the new tracks below and the other one streaming on the Sound Cloud website.  Congrats guys!

New(old) Tunes From Carissa’s Wierd

Now I honestly can’t say I was really that into Carrisa’s Wierd back when they gained some popularity back in the late 90s/00s.  I will say that I did however get on their band wagon a couple years ago.  With that being said, I’m glad to see that Hardly Art is planning a compilation album of the long dead group featuring 16 tracks from the Carissa’s Wierd back catalogue.  If you’re feeling spendy, you can pre-order the greatest hits LP now.  Hardly Art is also sharing this new MP3 of and old Carissa’s Wierd favorite “Die”.

New Music From Moondoggies

Seattle based band The Moondoggies are prepping a new EP entitled You’ll Find No Answer Here for release on June 8th via Hardly Art.  The 5 track EP is meant to tide you fans over until the guys release their sophomore LP Tidelands on Sep. 14th.  I’m sure both efforts will offer more bar soaked folk ballads similar to this new tune “Fly Mama Fly” from the upcoming EP.  The perfect description of The Moondoggies sound can be taken from this quote on their label’s website: “There will always be a Band that sings the song of The Highway. For us, for now, that band is the Moondoggies.”  Right on fellas.

New Music From Golden Triangle

Hardly Art band Golden Triangle might quite the stir during SXSW… So we have to pay attention to them right?  Right!?  Shortly after their trip to Austin, the band is prepping a highly anticipated split 7″ with Seattle boys The Fresh & Onlys.  That tasty little vinyl is hitting stores today and features this new track from Golden Triangle “Cold Bones”.  I am getting into this tune more than anything I’ve heard from the band so far.  I’ll be buying this one.
