Holly Miranda Drops New Tune

I’m already starting to put together a list of anticipated albums for 2018, and it sounds like Holly Miranda just added her name to the list. Her performance on this song is pretty stunning, especially when accented by Kyp Malone, who takes on few verses on his own. Perhaps the best thing about this track is that the duo leave a big space behind the delicate guitar and vocals; it draws the listener deep within the confines of the track, rolling them over and over in melancholic pop. Look for a new album from Miranda come February of next year.

Holly Miranda Has It All

hollyInstead of going on about how Holly Miranda is a female songwriter with looks and songs, let’s just enjoy listening to this great new single of hers.  I love the nonchalance in her lyrical display here, not to mention the coated fragility that seems to seep through.  And, instead of just giving us a singer-songwriter touch, she adds some atmospheric flourishes behind it all, strengthening the heart of the track; it puts her in a league where few other live…female or not.  Look for her self-titled LP to hit on May 19th via Dangerbird Records.

New Music From Holly Miranda

holly+miranda+mirandaThe beautiful Holly Miranda is prepping her new album The Magician’s Private Library due out Feb. 23rd via XL Recordings.  Below we’ve got a chance for you to check out first single “Waves” from the upcoming album.  Holly is another one of those ladies with a voice that I find irresistible.

Friendly Fires @ Mohawk (11/19)

friendly_fires1

Date 11/19/09
Location Mohawk
Doors 8pm
Tickets $10 from Frontgate

Front runners of the dance movement Friendly Fires are playing at Mohawk on Thursday night.  The show also includes buzz band The XX and Holly Miranda so the lineup is sick.  This also gives me an excuse to put up this XX song called “” which will probably be in my year end top songs list.
