Star Tropics Share Indiepop Gem
I feel like it’s been a slow year for indiepop fans. We had that Fanclub EP, and the Business of Dreams LP, but I pray that the newest single from Star Tropics means we’ll get another LP from them real soon. It’s been a few years since Lost World, so that only seems fitting…and if the whole thing is as good as this single I’ll probably cry. It employs a lot of the genre staples, those guitars that blend dream and jangling, dancing and maneuvering in the mix. Oh, and then they go throw that female/male vocal juxtaposition at me? Yea, just a slight swoon, no big deal. I like how the wash of keyboards opens up the space too, letting the song ride out into the horizon. Made my day.
