You all know that the ATL has a really solid rock n’ roll scene, and they’ve been sending out bands left and right to help take over the world. Turf War is another one of those acts, kicking out some really awesome hits. We caught up with John Robinson before the group head our way.

Man it seems like Fun Fest was ages ago at this point and we’ve been lagging just a bit behind on our post festival coverage as far as interviews go. It probably has a lot to do with the complete lack of experience I have with video editing software… So yes, the cat is out of the bag, ATH decided to do some video interviews over the festival weekend for the very first time and we’re hoping you’ll enjoy this new component of the site. In the future, we’re hoping to begin incorporating more and more video with our interviews, lost in austin series, and more general videos featuring new music. We’re like so 2011 now. Last weekend New Orleans based band Kindest Lines made a stop into Austin at the Mohawk playing shortly after indie buzz band Toro y Moi finished up their set outside. Unfortunately the ATH crew couldn’t make it to the show, but we were fortunate enough to have Jack from the band answer a few questions shortly after their Austin stop. Ever since I first heard the dance inducing music of Reptar, I knew they were a band I had to check out during ACL festival in a few weeks. As we always do, we’ll be bringing you as many interviews as we possibly can while we build up to the festival date. As previously stated, I’ve been a huge fan of John Lamonica and the music he creates. From his days in post-emo outfit My Spacecoaster and then now to his solo work, Lamonica’s songwriting has always struck a chord with me. Knowing this about me, you’re sure to understand my excitement when Lamonica recently stopped into Austin and agreed to answer a few questions for ATH. Gray Waves was such an enjoyable record that it led us to fall for Twin Tigers. We followed them around SXSW last year, secretly of course, so we were happy to sit down and get a few words in with the band before their return.
