Last weekend New Orleans based band Kindest Lines made a stop into Austin at the Mohawk playing shortly after indie buzz band Toro y Moi finished up their set outside. Unfortunately the ATH crew couldn’t make it to the show, but we were fortunate enough to have Jack from the band answer a few questions shortly after their Austin stop. My favorite new find of the year has to be New Orleans based 80’s style synth-pop band Kindest Lines. Â It’s really not my typical style, but for some reason they’ve struck a chord with me and have this odd way of keeping their tunes in my head. Â The second new track we have from the band’s upcoming debut LP is called “Destructive Paths to Live Happily” and can be found below. New Orleans based outfit Kindest Lines have been building a steady amount of praise amongst the blogging community as of late and I’m now ready to give them the ATH stamp of approval. Â Below you can find the track called “Baltimore” that’s seems to be popping up on every semi-popular hypem blog this side of the Mississippi. Â The eerily familiar sounding new wave style guitar riffs behind an awesome voice from Brittany Terry and a better than average synth beat has made for a unique take on the shoegaze movement. Â I can’t quite put my finger on a good label for this band, but isn’t that usually what makes the great ones great? Â A debut LP, Covered in Dust, from Kindest Lines is due out June 15th on Weird Records.
