Lala Salama – Kuva Susta
If you’re not paying attention to our coverage of the Finnish scene, don’t skip over the tunes we’re bringing you today. The simplistic opening 26 seconds of this new Lala Salama track had me floored, light in nature, but weighted in its tonal approach. When the vocals come into the light, the tune immediately begins to awaken; the buds are careful to open, like they’re shaking off the Winter freeze before suddenly the guitars are distorted and the tune’s right in your face! There’s such a huge sound waiting for you if you can only unlock the listen below. Look for their debut LP in March via All That Plazz.
Last week was crazy on our end, running around trying to get all the cool songs out, not to mention trying to cover some of the SXSW stuff we’d promise to get out from artists like Bodega and Smut. Ran a few solid premieres too, so be sure to focus on Magana and House of Heaven. You’ll also find new Lunchbox, Mirrorball, Good Looks and many more. Plus, Fantastic Purple Spots dropped a video

It was a busy week to start, then as usual at this time of year, I teetered out with our coverage; I blame the fact that I stayed up late to catch a great set from En Attendant Ana. We covered a lot of territory, bringing in an old school song from Heavenly, but with a new video to celebrate. Austin got some love with another great Feeling Small tune, plus some bonus Being Dead coverage popping up in there.
