More New Music From Fair Ohs

The last time I shared some music from pop hit makers Fair Ohs, I told you that I’d be looking out for more summertime music from them.  Well here we are as promised with new summer haze song “Baldessari”.  As previously mentioned, this track will appear on the upcoming new album Everything is Dancing due out July 26th on Lefse Records.  This album is sure to be one of my anthems for summer fun in the sun.

New Music from Houses

Houses, like many of us, have had a hard time of things, facing economic woes and what not.  In the process, they relocated to Hawaii, living in what some might consider obscurity.  Using solar power to fuel their recording process, the band ended up building a quite record, one that sounds as if it was created in a remote area of anywhere, as it clearly was.  Lead single “Soak it Up” uses quiet electronics to create some sort of contemplative oceanic wave, that gently idles along as you find yourself absorbed, possibly within yourself.  Such is the work of Houses, who will release their album All Night on Lefse on October 19th.

New Music from A Classic Education

I’ve been debating about whether or not to completely abandon electronically enhanced tunes, a la the Sleigh Bells and what nots, and listening to Italy’s A Classic Education really is pushing me further in that direction.  The vocals have a little bit of distance, yet there’s a familiar quality, as if you’re listening to the band play in your roommate’s bedroom.  Guitars seem to sort of coast through casually, yet with this incredible sharp presence.  Lucky for all us Stateside, we’ll get a chance to hear new tracks from the band when their Hey There Stranger EP hits shores on September 21st via Lefse.  Give me guitars and good tunes, and I’ll always be your friend.

New Tunes From Neon Indian

nq_19palomoAlan Palomo is a busy busy man who continues to churn out new music under several different monikers.  Shortly after the death of Dallas band Ghosthustler, Palomo went on to form ATH fave band Vega who have been getting all kinds of positive press recently.  Now the man is busy again with new side project Neon Indian. The sounds are similar to what you’d expect and are sure to get you ready for the summer time dance floor.  This track “Terminally Chill” will appear on upcoming album Psychic Chasms due out October 13th on Lefse Records.
