Nathan’s Top Albums of 2025
I could wax, poetically, about the meaning of year-end lists and how they turn us onto great tunes to create our playlists, but instead, I feel like this is my sort of last gasp post of the year, in what seems like a last gasp moment for blogs. I instilled some silly rules on myself in crafting this list…but if I disclose that, it could ruin your fun of jamming to all these records. So here’s a list…put whatever meaning into it you can, and just remember, I love to do this…even when its tough to string words together…so please keep coming back and we’ll keep doing this.

A fairly busy week as we got a little more back on routine writing last week, and we were especially excited for all the pop fans out there. New stuff from Jeanines, the Perfect English Weather, Lightheaded, and Lost Film had what cures the ills, and man, were there some special tracks mentioned above. Circled around to hear some Austin, and Austin adjacent stuff with Little Marzarn, BS and former ATX resident Lauren Green and Tan Cologne. Plus, M. Maly gave us a peek at what’s in store for Pscyh Fest, throwing in some coverage with King Hannah being highlighted on the playlist. Plus, great new albums from the Convenience and Mythical Motors rounded the week out properly. What was your fave?
A pretty solid listening week over here, at least if you’re asking us. You’ll click below to find a few solid releases that are brand new, and one that’s been revamped for your listening pleasure…not to mention being made available to the masses for the first time. Click below to see what you’re into…maybe a little of this, a little of that, or maybe all of it…but be sure to support the artists and labels!
Well, after going pretty nonstop for nearly 20 years, RayRay and I had our first real Spring Break, so we took a few days off…please forgive us! That means that today you’re getting a lot of jams coming your way, new and a week old that I couldn’t ignore! But, even with our time off, Ray and I covered almost 20 new tunes…all but one included in our weekly wrap-up playlist to get your day started. There’s new Buffet Lunch, Mamalarky, Sharp Pins and more. If you want to go back and revisit the “writing,” just scroll through the site, but you’re going to have to try to keep up as the tunes are coming fast and heavy at you today!
You’re looking out your window, seeing Spring bloom before your eyes…or at least that’s what we’re seeing in our neck of the woods…and to go perfectly, you need a great song, like this new
For some reason or another, we were rather preoccupied with the Austin goings-on, so perhaps we didn’t cover as much as we might have liked. I’ll be circling back through this week to try and get as much of it up as I can. But, we did have some really solid jams…and a few premieres…or whatever you call it. I was definitely feeling a little electronically inclined, covering new stuff from Maria Chiara Argiro and Cong Josie. Got blown away by the new Lightheaded track, not to mention fawning over tunes from Kindsight and Mammoth Penguins. Oh, and speaking of premieres…we had a new Unwed Sailor and a live cut from The Wind-Ups. Check them below.
I missed the boat on the first single from the forthcoming
