Monday nights aren’t usually highly-anticipated in the Austin music scene, unless a touring band is making a stop in town. Last Monday, the 27th, The Parish hosted a stop on Stellastar’s album release tour. The New York quartet just released their third album, Civilized, the first release in over 3 years. Expectations were high for this show and Stellastarr didn’t disappoint. The same can’t be said for the opening acts, but overall it was a very good Monday night in Austin. Our friends Sonic Itch, Ultra8201, and Navdo are teaming up to put on a rock show Wednesday night at The Parish. The lineup includes rockers Winston Audio, locals White White Lights, and opener Eleni Mandell. Tickets for this event are only $7 and can be bought the night of the show. Doors open up at 8:30.

Austin Sound Check Magazine is putting on a show at The Parish that features headliners Stellastarr* along with Wild Light and locals Experimental Aircraft. Doors for this one are at 7pm and tickets are on sale now for $16.

Bill Callahan @ The Parish (7/5)

ATH Interviews: Here We Go Magic

Before their sold out show at the Parish, ATH stopped by End of an Ear in Austin on Tuesday for an intimate in-store performance by Brooklyn band Here we go Magic. Shortly after the set, we had the chance to sit down with founding member Luke Temple to ask him a few questions about his newly formed band. The ATH crew rushed from prior arrangements to get to The Parish on Monday in order to catch a good evening with some of Canada’s finest, along with one of California’s best. Centro-matic and Will Johnson get all kinds of coverage on this site so we will of course be alerting you every time the Denton, TX band makes it through town. Friday evening Will and the boys will be making a stop at the Parish downtown along with Monahans and locals Future Cloud and Radar. The Parish should be an ideal venue to see such an underrated and talented band. Doors are at 8pm/music at 9. Tickets can be bought online now for $14.
