Pop Rock from Teleman

telemanOut of the ashes of the excellent Pete and the Pirates burst forth Teleman. They’ve been toiling about with a few releases, but I think their newest, Brilliant Sanity, is the one I’ll cling to as the one where they sound most complete. Just the way that the hooks are delivered on this track, taking aim at pop music, but still adding a little bit of artistry in the way of light vocal samples and building layers while the guitars seemingly go off the tracks. It’s energetic good times, of the best sort, so look for the album on April 8th via Moshi Moshi.

More New Music from Teleman

telemanOut of the ashes from Pete and the Pirates came Teleman, made up of several members of the band. They’ve previously released  one single, and now it seems like a new one is on the way from their very own imprint, Encona Records. This new single is more what I expected from the new group, providing more energy than their previous single.  Still, it holds onto the careful pop vibe, especially apparent on this tune during the chorus.  At the rate they’re going, it’s only a matter of time before the group has a full length on the way.  Look for this single on July 1st.

New Single from Teleman

And out of the ashes of Pete and the Pirates comes Teleman.  Yep, I’m a little bummed there’s no more Pete and the Pirates, but this brand new single from the newer outfit is pretty special.  It opens slowly for the most part, using the vocal to really draw in the listener.  Moving along, it adds hazy bits of keyboards and a simple drum beat before carrying you off to a blissful pop state.  You can find this track on the group’s debut single, which will be part of the new Moshi Moshi Singles Club; it comes out on January 14th, so get those wallets ready.

New Music from Pete and the Pirates

It’s been two years since Pete and the Pirates released Little Death, so personally, I’ve been waiting for them to hook us up with something new. As a Christmas special, the band have leaked a track from their forthcoming album, which is untitled, yet slated for a May 2011 release.  The rhythm in the single, “Winter 1,” definitely has a solid driving beat to it, giving the track a hell of a kick.  Vocals sound a touch like the Mystery Jets, which doesn’t bother me by any means.  It seems they’ve definitely been honing their chops in the absence, and I can’t wait to hear more of the soaring melodies from the group as we get closer to the release date.
