This is fine.
I’ll be honest right here. I went to catch Desaparecidos out of nostalgia, which I think was probably the case for a lot of people. When I left, however, I felt something different. Aside from my ears ringing, I sort of felt bad.

You want to know how the Twin Shadow set went? Well, you can hear from everyone in attendance if you show up at 11 to catch two of the hottest acts in Austin. The after party is being hosted by the Mohawk, featuring both Politics and Orthy. Personally, I dig them both, but Orthy has been really impressing us over at ATH with their live sets. It’s going to be a cheap night where you can file into the bar, dance a little bit, and leave feeling like you might have caught the best show in town that no one was talking about. Don’t believe me? It’s time once again for The Bleet Up put on by our friends over at Austin Eavesdropper and Ultra8201. This time the event is going down at the Whole Foods rooftop downtown and features live music from locals Politics, The Lennings, Motel Aviv, and 23 Positions covering Prince classics. You can also expect sample food and drink booths, local pop up shops and of course the massive Whole Foods ice skating rink. This event is also special becuase event coordinators ROA will be anouncing their winners of the first ever Austin Blogger Awards. Now we wouldn’t want to sway anyone’s vote… but we are nominated for 3 categories and voting is still open! This is a great way to support your local online community. I’m sure we’ll be seeing many of you fine folks there!

For those of you looking to make some plans for Saturday night in Austin should head over to The ND for what’s sure to be a great FREE show. Local boys and friends Whitman are headlining the event along with fellow up and coming local talent Politics and Catahoula. You’ll also be getting some sweet tunes spun by DJ reyluna (rumored to be members of this very website) between sets and after Whitman until the bar closes down. Hell if nothing else, the thing is free and aint nothin’ in life for free.

So as previously stated, The Authors have a new release coming out soon that we’ve been looking forward to for quite some time. To celebrate the release of their new album, the Austin band has a planned CD release party at Mohawk for Thursday night. In celebration of Andy Warhol’s B-day, our friends over at Massive Beacon, KVRX, Do512, Ultra8201, and Bird’s Barbershop teamed up for a sweet event at Mohawk on Friday night. Music for the evening is provided by Ringo Deathstarr, Prayer for Animals, Politics, Hatchet Wound, and the Team Fabrication DJs. You can also expect a photo booth by Trevor Ray, food from Frank, live screen printing from Twin Villain, and Warhol themed decor. Head to Do512 for more info. on this crazy event.

Our friend over at Austin Eavesdropper had such a good time with her first Blogger Bleet Up back in July that she decided to throw a bigger and better event leading up to Fun Fest on Thursday night. This go around anyone and everyone is invited and can gain entry with an RSVP and $7 cash. Bands have also been included for the event and include locals The Lennings, Built by Snow, Corto Maltese, Policitcs, Sad Accordions, and Great Nostalgic.
