Too Good Not To Post: Another New Track From Porches

unnamed-20So Porches have done it again, but are you really that surprised? The internet was buzzing with praise for this band after their video/single for “Be Apart,” graced us with synth pop goodness, but they’re taking it in a slightly different direction with “Car,” which is another single off of their upcoming record, Pool. This track shows a different side to the band, more along the lines of indie rock with synth influence. I’m digging the jangle of the distorted guitar that undercuts the whole mix as well as the distinct lead vocals that command the song. Take a listen if you haven’t already and be sure to order Pool, out later this week on February 5th, from Domino Records.

Slightly Late To The Party: Dance-Ready Synth-Pop From Porches

12186319_879335592142005_9194046950894279595_oYou may have seen this video from Porches already, as it debuted sometime last week, but just in case you missed it, I’m here to help you out. Word on the street is that we’re fast approaching a new album from Porches, and on the way to Pool, which is out February 5th via Domino Records, we’ve been graced with a video for this latest single, “Be Apart.” Heavy synths make up the majority of the soundscape and the light vocals juxtapose nicely with the poundingsynths. It’s got a great rhythm that’ll have you bobbing your head in the beginning and by the end of the track you’ll probably be halfway across the room, shaking your ass properly. Watch below and jump into the present with us.

More Fun Hits from Quarterbacks

quarterbacksI just can’t stop listening to this record.  The songs are quick and to the point, yet they’re always infectious, getting stuck in your head.  But, like the song below, they’re all fairly short, so the listen isn’t daunting by any means; it’s refreshing in fact, blasting through with fun hooks in under 30 minutes.  I implore you to look beyond perceived simplicity in the lyrics and just indulge in what’s been a great surprise from Quarterbacks.  They’re self-titled album will be in stores on February 10th courtesy of Team Love Records.

Poppy Jam from Cub Sport

paradiseJust because it’s Hump Day doesn’t need we all need a little something extra to get over that bit of a hump.  For me, I think this new track from Cub Sport will do just the trick.  It’s a track with the kitchen-sink approach, utilizing great percussion to create undeniable hooks.  Combine that withe group’s knack for providing listeners with great melodies and you’re standing down the barrel of a much needed pop shotgun.  The Aussie act just released their Paradise EP, which is filled with tunes very similar to what you’ll hear.  Hope you have a blast today folks!
