Nice Little Number from Line & Circle

linecirclesThere’s something about Line & Circle that sounds both nostalgic and current; that’s a hard feat to capture, and this is only the group’s first album.  I like how the vocals stand out far upfront, while the angular guitar noodles about in the background.  Surely people will take notice how they play upon the same ground as the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, but hold a bit more reservations in their sound, which allows the band to stand on their own ground.  If you’re a fan of huge pop rock sounds, then look for their eponymous EP on October 28th.

Another Rocker From White Reaper

140138140908_PMA little over a month ago, we shared a track with you from new Polyvinyl signee White Reaper.  Today the boys are at it again with another new and fun pop rock tune called “Cool” found below.  The title of the song is appropriately short here as the song is short, sweet, and easily enjoyable even to the most casual of listeners.  We’ll be looking forward to June 24th when their new self-titled EP drops on Polyvinyl.

Even More New Music From Sweet Serenades

I’ve been following Swedish based pop band Sweet Serenades for a few years now and I’ve always enjoyed their fresh style of pop music with a certain Scandinavian raw twist.  Saving you from another biography of the band, I just wanted to share this new track they recently sent my way called “Run (Run Run)”.  It’s just been pointed out to me that the song is sort of reminiscent of a certain Austin band Built by Snow and I think I’m cool with that comparison.  This song appears on the band’s new album Help Me! which is out now and available for purchase via Leon Records.

New Fun Pop From The Elwins

TheElwins1-e1324662490507-924x660

Indie pop Canadians The Elwins are prepping the release of their U.S. debut And I Thank You on March 5th via We Are Busy Bodies Records.  Prior to that release date, the band have offered up a free download of this incredibly catchy pop number “Forgetful Assistance”.  It brings me images of fellow Canadians Tokyo Police Club intertwined with the bass rhythms of Sting in The Police.  You won’t find a more upbeat and catchy tune anywhere in the states.  The song also has a very interesting self-made video which is available to check out over on youtube.

Interested parties should also note that they will be in town for SXSW next month.  Rock on.
