Another Pop Ditty from Pure Moods

Feels like just a week or so ago I was sharing a new Pure Moods tune, and here we are again with a brand new track from the forthcoming Upward Spiral. I loved the last track, but I think this one’s even better; it has everything you want in a pop song: it’s catchy, nice melody and it’s short. There’s that Australian casual attitude in the way the vocals are delivered, as if there wasn’t a care in the world. But, what I’ve been drawn to are the sharp guitar notes; they toy with being jangly, but happily make out their own path until they’re joined by this interesting textured guitar buzz meandering through. Tear Jerk Records release the full LP this Friday.

Pure Beauty From Pure Moods

It’s Friday afternoon and I can’t imagine a better time for some fantastic tunes to take into your weekend. Today our weekend vibe tune comes by was of Melbourne based artist Pure Moods and the new single “Tide”. This one has an absolutely lovely grooving vibe with some slacker rock tendencies and some bright guitar numbers. It’s my favorite song of the week.

Pure Moods will release new album Upward Spiral on November 29th via Tear Jerk Records.

Pure Moods Share New Pop Number

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve heard anything from Melbourne outfit Pure Moods, but there’s a brand new pop tune to get you tapping your toes. This one’s right up my alley, using those crystalline guitar lines that sparkle and shine in the sunlight, turning ever so gently to match the natural warmth that comes through the vocals; this is guitar pop at its very finest. Speaking of the vocals, when matched with the pace of the track, it all combines to carry this sort of dreamy indifference; you’re not sure if you should care of if they should care, but you do care because the song’s great. Go on, listen to it. It’ll appear on Upward Spiral, the new effort slated for November 29th via Tear Jerk Records.

Another Track from Pure Moods

PURE_MOODS-BLooks like we’ll be spending some time over in Australia today, as we first ran a Lower Plenty track, and now we’re here with this Pure Moods hit. I’ve really taken to the band’s approach; they seem to take the pages from the Mac Demarco notebook and slow it all down…like the DJ Screw of indie rock. There’s a nice meandering bit of guitar jamming out right after the 2 minute mark, but even that has a subdued wash to it. To me, this is chillwave, but with instruments! Looking forward to the group’s debut self-titled album, out November 4th via Deaf Ambitions.

Meet Melbourne’s Pure Moods

PURE_MOODS-BHow quickly the Melbourne music makes its way over to our side of the pond, just like this Pure Moods track that’s blowing up rather quickly. There’s an interesting dynamic to the song, with the chiming guitars taking on more of a dream pop sensation while the vocals have that relaxed attitude that’s been popularized in the city over the past several years. As of now, the band’s in their early stage, just tossing this catchy piece in your ears while they head back into the studio to finish up work on their debut album for Deaf Ambitions.
