More New Music From Royal Forest

royalforest_press_2012_meRoyal Forest is an Austin band that has really been making some waves recently as they try to reinvent their sound and mature into their skin as a band.  We here at ATH have taken notice of their hard work and have found new reasons to enjoy the band’s sounds.  Prior to the release date of their new album Spillways on July 9th via King Rock Record Co., the band are offering up yet another new track entitled “John Denver”.  The track initially sounds a bit folkier than what were used to with the acoustic guitar throughout, but then the band’s all too familiar pop tendencies chime in to craft a beautiful songwriter style indie pop tune.  Keep it going gents.

New Experimental Pop Music From Royal Forest

royalforest_press_2012_meWe’ve long been supporters of local boys Royal Forest and the interesting pop music they’ve been creating over the last several years both as Loxsly and under their current moniker.  Though the band have been upping their frequency of shows around town recently, we haven’t heard much new music since the October release of beautiful new track “Ambulance”.  Today welcome news has come our way that the band not only have a new tune to share with us, but also have recently completed a new album of material entitled Spillway.  Prior to that July 9th release date on King Electric Record Co, the band are offering up this new song “Everyone Who Knows You” as a sneak peak of what’s to come.  Similar to “Ambulance”, this new jam has a very Transference era Spoon vibe to it  with heavily effected vocals and guitars throughout.  If the entire new album can deliver with these types of pop influences and unique songwriting, we might be in for something special.

New Gritty Pop From Royal Forest

Royal Forest is a band that’s been on the ATH radar for a long time now and we try to give them as much coverage as we can when the chance arises.  The band has been relatively quiet, as far as recorded material goes, but still seem to play around town on a regular basis.  Lucky for us, the band just passed over this new gritty number called “Ambulance”.  It has a solid backing beat behind some interesting hushed vocals that compliment the track quite nicely.

The band is planning on releasing a new EP of material for free on bandcamp sometime real soon.  We’ll be sure to let you know when that goes down.
