More New Pop from My Great Ghost

A few months back we brought you the tune “Plain Sight” from the self-titled EP from My Great Ghost.  Now, as the date draws near for the July 10th release of their EP, we’ve got another track from their EP to share with you, “Photograph.”  Again, the duo has crafted some well organized electronic pop that builds steadily throughout the track, which is indicative of all the tracks on the group’s EP.  With a start like this EP, the future looks bright for the groups from New York, so be sure to check out the release, and keep the band on your radar.

Great Mellow Jam from Pure Bathing Culture

I’m pretty sure you’re all going to love this track; there’s really nothing as strikingly wonderful as this track from Pure Bathing Culture.  It’s such a subtle pop track, with the instrumentation turned down low so the vocals can reach perfection by the time they hit your ears.  You can find this track on the group’s debut self-titled EP, which just came out via the good people over at Father Daughter Records.  Come on, one listen just isn’t enough, you’re going to have to play this song over and over again.  I don’t know about you, but that pretty sums the track up as a certified hit.

Fresh New Indie Pop from The Royal Concept

So, you’ve been missing the absence of Phoenix? Well, The Royal Concept are here to cure your ills, giving you almost the exact same sentiment the French group gave us.  Okay, the more I listen to this, the more I realize it’s almost an exact rip of the aforementioned band, but who doesn’t need something like this to brighten up our day? If you need something to get your feet tapping and your party started, then you’ve come to the right place.  Their debut self-titled EP is out now, so if you like what you hear, get on it.

New Pop from Gold Fields

It’s Friday, so I wanted to start off the day with something springy that will give us all a bit of a pick-up.  So I’m here to offer you this kicking new track from Australia’s Gold Fields.  By their account, they’ve worked hard to make everything sound different on their self-titled EP, switching it up from track to track.  This song has a solid groove, accentuated by the extra percussive elements throughout.  Those of you clamoring for more will get to hear a whole album worth of material later in 2012, but also look out for the band at SXSW and a few other scattered shows throughout the states in the next month.

New Instrumental Jam from Equals

Texas, especially in the summer time, seems to breed bands that just want to get down and play together, fully unleashing whatever sounds come to their fingers.  Such is the case with up-and-comers, Equals, one of the newest in the Texas field of post-rock.  While the beginning and end definitely rely upon the quieter side of the musical stream, you’ll find that there’s some chaos swirling in the middle for you, giving you precisely that level of noise many need in their instrumental rock.  The group is releasing their debut self-titled EP on August 30th, and from there, they can only get bigger. Let’s do this.

New Track from Pink Frost

Listening to Chicago band Pink Frost, you can see that there’s a lot more of a darker undertone to their music than perhaps the band’s name might dictate.  Despite that, they’ve crafted this beautiful little self-titled EP, which has these sprawling tendencies with the guitars, yet holds close to those melodies.  Vocals sound soft and quiet, providing you with clarity to really allow yourself to focus on lyrics, along with the mood created by the band. Don’t be scared of the dark leaning photo above, as pop sensibility certainly dwells within this band’s catalog.
