Billy Tibbals Shares Out of Touch

The more I listen to Billy Tibbals the less I seem to know how to describe his craft. There are times where the bratty vocal delivery reminds me of Jay Reatard; then he rolls his tongue and comes across like Geddy Lee or some other master of prog sentiment. All of it gets punched in through a frantic bit of huge riffs and playful little recording mix nuances like the telephone call in the midst of this single. At times he’s driving and punchy, then turns around and feels playful, as if he’s been playing with us all along. Then you get to the end and you hear a bit of Bolan or Bowie, bridging all these influences to leave you with a track that surely soars if you crank it all the way up! His Nightlife Stories EP is out this Friday via Silver Arrow Records.

Billy Tibbals Takes Us to Foreverland

I love when I get turned onto new artists, which was the case a few weeks ago when Billy Tibbals popped up on my radar. I loved him then, but his newest single warrants some steady spins in my musical rotation. There’s this slight bit of that Bowie/Bolan-esqure brand of pop rock, which is undeniable. But, beneath those tendencies, there’s also this bit of organic folk rock that echoes through, something that seems to be seeking solace in the wilderness; huge sweeping string arrangements don’t hurt the grandiose nature either. Billy will release his new Stay Teenage EP this Friday via Silver Arrow Records.

Fun Pop Rocker from Billy Tibbals

Every once in awhile I’ll get stuck under a track that I just want to play as loud as I can, which happens to be this great Billy Tibbals tune. The UK artist just dropped this new tune, and it feels like the most enjoyable bit of glam rock I’ve heard in some time. Every thing about the chorus just screams effortless cool, and the staggering swagger that rocks throughout the tune’s main verses. To me, it feels like Tibbals is out there having the time of his life, and I don’t mind that one damned bit. Looking forward to hearing more from Billy, with his new Stay Teenage EP, out via Silver Arrow Records.
