As many of you probably now, the UK band we grew to love last year Stricken City have decided to call it quits. Fortunately for fans of the band, they recently released their final album Losing Colour this month on Kora Records. Sure we may be a bit late on posting this, but we feel like we owed it to the band to pay homage to some of the sweet tunes they created. Enjoy new single “Some Say” below.

Seeing a sweet set by British band Stricken City at Red 7 during SXSW sort of reminded me of their existence and prompted me to do a little searching on the state of the band. Much to my surprise, the band recently dropped a new 4 song EP which can be downloaded for free on their website. Standout track from those recordings “Animal Festival” can be found below. The new album Songs About People I know from British band Stricken City drops tomorrow on Kora Records and we’ve got a last minute preview before you go out and buy it. This new single is called “Small Things” and highlights some of our favorite things about the band. Think a little bit Yeah Yeah Yeahs mixed with some British fuzz guitar.

London’s Stricken City are known for their avant garde videos and the beauty of their lead singer, but now with the release of Songs About People I Know awaiting release on November 3rd it’s time to focus on the music. You can feel the bounce immediately here, and Raa’s sex-kitten vocals make it difficult not to fall for this song.
