Interesting New Track From Samuel Cooper

Mr. Samuel Cooper is a man who has become well known for his work in the indie-pop group Sunglasses. New is hitting the streets today that the man is going solo for a spell and already has a full album of material ready for our ears. Previewing that new material is this delightful new tune called “Treehouse”. I love the bright and sunny feel you get from the song and can’t help but smile throughout. Enjoy.

Killer Tune from Sunglasses

A few years back, I remember that everyone was hyped up on Brooklyn’s Sunglasses, and deservedly so. But, since their self-titled EP, they’ve sort of gone missing, sadly. However, the group is gearing up to release their first full-length, Wildlife, on November 13th via Mush Records. This lead single is really busy, but I think they know what they’re doing, layering extensive sound collages/handclaps atop the song’s inner hook. It’s definitely in the sphere of poppy art-collage, but while this song is busy, I think it also demonstrates a finesse and control you don’t see from similar acts.

New Tunes from Sunglasses

There’s a new band coming out of Georgia these days, and with their blend of melody and electronics, Sunglasses are sure to be making waves with the crowds soon. At first listen, it has a lot of the flavor that Animal Collective has, but their beats have a bit more of American nostalgia to them. For instance, this single, off their self-titled Sunglasses EP, feels like you’re walking into a Leave it to Beaver show, and the vocal delivery has a bit more of a flow, as opposed to a chant, like many of the chill-wave bands. If you like it, you can hear more from the group when the EP comes on on June 15th.
