Great New Track From Honey I’m Home

Rising Dutch band Honey I’m Home really left a lasting impression on me after our ATH show during SXSW at 29th street Ballroom. They’d easily be one of my top bands of the festival, if not the favorite overall. While the buzz is high, the band just released this new single called “Hyperspace Mountain” a couple days ago, and it needed to be on these her pages. Without much by way of recorded material, it’s great to have something else to add to my top songs of 2026. Heavily atmospheric, leaning toward shoegaze, but with these light, tonal touches throughout. Love it.

If you’re over in Europe, the band just announced a few dates over there. Stay tuned.

About Last Night: SXSW Thursday

Your ATH crew kicked things off for SXSW last night with a slew of official(ish) events around the downtown area and on the east side. It was great to get the band back together for a short night before the madness really begins today and into the weekend. As always, we try to provide the best coverage we can and hit on things in a timely manner. We didn’t see a whole lot last night, but we certainly had some highlights. Check out some quick notes and fancy photos after the jump.

SXSW Interviews 2026 – Cashier

Really just a day or so now before we sort of shut this machine down and head out to cover as much SXSW madness as we can. It’s a new year and I know the crew has a few “must see” bands not to miss this time. Cashier is surely one of those bands on our list, and are seeing a huge rise right now with our indie music community. We are super excited to share their interview answers with you. As always, full responses, show dates and tunes are after the jump.

11th Hour SXSW Recommendations

Let’s do this in a quick and dirty way. Songs selected courtesy the ATH IT Dept.

Nightbus – I have vinyl, shameless plug for Welcome to the Jangle (Sunday at Tweedy’s). “Ascension” and “Angles Mortz” (below) capture the vibe from the Manchester Duo. Are ya mad for it?

Chalk – Belfast’s Chalk has been featured here at ATH a couple times, I am bracing myself for menacing melody and heavy beats. LFG.

Modeselektor – Speakeasy will play host on Saturday night to early 2000s synth vibes straight out of the East Berlin scene.

Night Drive – To know them is to love them, annual tradition of a SXSW dance party a Valhalla is becoming a thing, see ya tomorrow night (3/12).

Jet Cemetery – March 14th day party at 13th Floor, it is a record release in the chaos of SXSW. I have the vinyl already (I pre-pre-ordered) and it is one of my favorite things so far this year.

SXSW Interviews 2026 – Sunforger

Phew, what!? You’re telling me SXSW kicks off later THIS WEEK!? Well yeah I knew that, but wow if things didn’t really sneak up on me this year, more so than any prior festival. So things “officially” start going down on Thursday, but you are sure to see some things starting today and of course into what is sure to be a wild weekend. We have another preview for you today, this time with Montreal based act Sunforger. As always, full interview, show dates and tunes will be after the jump.

Last Week’s Jams (3.2 – 3.6)

Started off with a banging amount of rock n’ roll last week, and then sort of fizzled as the week drew to a close, so all apologies. Still, there was plenty of news and new music for you; we had several SXSW Interviews too, since the festival kicks off this week! Plus, we announced the return of Welcome to the Jangle on Sunday, March 15th. But, new stuff from the likes of Memorials and Greg Mendez caught our ears, as did the newest single from zzzahara, who included Winter on their latest single. Friko continued to keep us guessing on where they’re headed, and some bonus indiepop from the Maureens and Succulents! Jump in below!
