ATH vs SOTO Annual SXSW Party!!!

Every year, we gather with our frienemies over at Side One Track One, and throw down a huge show over at Hotel Vegas/Volstead. As is the case every year, we have 30 bands from all over Austin, and a few on the ATH Records roster. When we set up this years show, we wanted to make sure the bands all had new music on the way in 2019…and that seems to be the case. You can click on this glorious photo to see the show poster, or head over to the FB Event Page to see who all is going to show up. The show takes place Sunday, March 10th…and its absolutely free! Really stoked to see our friend Ram Vela return to the stage with his new band. Plus, ATH acts the Hermits, Being Dead and She Sir sharing their new tunes!

Pleased to Meet You: Auragraph

The ATH IT Department has a combo. We are sharing the brand new track from Auragraph, a solo project from Hector Carlos Ramirez. Hector has worked with several familiar names; Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein and S U R V I V E, Josh Mills of Missions. He is part of the resurgence in the analog synth sounds that have been so welcomed by myself and many electronic music fans for bringing back a lo-fi honesty to creation of waveforms and beats. We also have a little Q&A for you by following the jump after the video for the song “Polywave” via Outer Limits Records.

SXSW Awards – 2018

Your friendly neighborhood ATH staff members have emerged from SXSW week and I think we’re all finally ready to reminiscence on what transpired. As we’ve done in the past, it seems like a perfect time to hand out some awards for the festival with superlatives that we made up like 5 minutes ago. Keep in mind we saw a lot of bands, had a bit to drink, and ventured out to more venues than we can possibly remember. SXSW Interviews: Common Holly

Who is awake this morning? Not this guy. Myself and the entire ATH crew have emerged from the week of madness known as SXSW and are somehow all working today. It was hella fun, but this is surely the worst Monday of the year. As always, we will be recapping our week here soon, but before that, I have one more interview to run which somehow slipped through the cracks last week. Brand New Eureka California Hit (SXSW Artist)

One of our favorite duos from Athens, GA just dropped a brand new tune off their forthcoming LP. Like all great track from Eureka California this one drops in at just over 2 minutes, but it packs a ferocious punch. Drummer Mary Uhler is back there furiously pounding her kit, setting a quick pace that forces Jake to push ahead with both vocals and guitars. It’s a breakneck speed, indie rock speaking, but the slight vocal inflection in Jake’s voice give just the slightest hint at pop sensibility. They’re also going to be one of the hot tickets at SXSW, with everyone clamoring to catch them live. Roadrunners will be released by HHBTM on May 4th. SXSW Interview: Yoke Lore

We’re almost there folks, but why not meet another artist coming into town. Below you’ll find answers to our SXSW Interviews from Yoke Lore. He’s about to venture off on a large tour through April/May, but he’s planning on coming to Austin to grab some BBQ and take it all in. We’ve also included a new hit that just dropped yesterday, so you can have a taste of what he’s all about; think Rostam, with a touch more pop grandiosity.
