ATH DJs – Emo Night Playlist

Your ATH crew had another fun DJ Happy Hour last night over at Oddwood brewing, and this time we once again were asked to curate an Emo heavy theme. While we spun the records on the tables, Nate and I added everything into a big playlist so you folks who missed out could stream after the fact. You’ll rock, maybe slightly bob your head, and scream out those familiar lyrics. We’ve got this playlist for you Spotify people and for the realist of Apple purists.

Disclaimer – While we turned this into a streamable playlist, these are all songs and albums from our personal vinyl collections. Next time we hope to record from the decks for a true live experience!

Sound on Sound Lineup is Here!

Well ladies and germs, it’s here, our friends over at Margin Walker have yet again outdone themselves this year with an incredibly impressive lineup. Simply looking at the big names of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear, Iggy Pop, and The Shins should be enough to get your butt out there. Digging deeper we’ve got Cloud Nothings, Japandroids, my teenage self in various forms via Taking Back Sunday, and holy hell… Cannibal Corpse! Even the small names near the bottom are impressive with Hoops and Girlpool just to name a couple. Something here for everyone. Well done guys, well done. The festival will again take place out in Sherwood Forrest on November 10th-12th.

GA tickets and more can be found here. Full lineup also on SOS site or can be seen by clicking the poster on your left.

Show Preview: Gang Gang Dance @ the Mohawk (10/3)

Date Monday, October 3rd
Location Mohawk
Doors 630p
Tickets $11 from Frontgate

I know, I know, Taking Back Sunday is playing Monday night, but this show over at the Mohawk is going to be far better, I promise. Some of the most creative indie music being made is coming to our town tonight courtesy of Gang Gang Dance.  They’re fresh off the summer release of their album, Eye Contact.  Their known for extravagant shows, and lets hope this is no exception.  But, you get twice as lucky if you come early, as opening band Prince Rama are a force to be reckoned with in their own right.  From what I know, PR brings one of the best live acts to town, so you couple that with Gang Gang Dance and you’re left with one brilliant show that’s a can’t miss. Pretty killer way to start off October with our friends at the Mohawk.
